9/25 - 9/26 Course Setup

Hey Everybody! I'd like three helpers for course set up Friday. Ideally I'd like to smash it out earlier in the morning (probably starting at/around 7:00 am) to avoid the heat. I'd also like two more volunteers for the afternoon change over. Let me know if you'd like to help out! This will count as ...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

I am considering getting a Carbon fiber hood, would that move me from STU to street modified? By the rulebook yes that would make you a Street Mod car but seeing as you probably aren't going to suddenly buy Hoosiers and start cutting body panels I wouldn't worry about staying in STU (where your car...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Good evening! Newcomer here, wanting to get started. I am reading and absorbing as much information as I can. My question... I have a BMW 320i xDrive. The 320 is listed in G street, what I wanted to know is if the AWD pushed into another class. I couldn't find anything that differentiated rear whee...

is the no minor's policy going to apply to the pro solo?
I have no clue what's happening at the head office with regards to the Pro Solo ... we should probably reach out to them and get them briefed on what hoops we're currently jumping through to rent the site.

Re: Tentative COVID-19 Guidelines Starting June 20th

Any updates to the registered participants only restriction? We submitted an updated guideline to ACS that tried to open up things for non-registered guests but were shot down. Currently, the wording we have awaiting approval is in line with NMCA's policy which allows one "Crew" member per register...

SOLD - 2016 Fiesta ST AKA Charmin PAX machine

SOLD Hey everybody, The time has come for me to finally stop driving the easy PAX machine and move on to a new challenge. My current plan is to drive the car at the next Cal Club event and the Fontana Pro before getting real serious about selling it. However, I'd like to offer it up to our community...

If you're on Facebook the California Track Addicts page may be a good place to post this! There's also an SCCA Racecar For Sale page that may help this get moved!

"Events are closed to spectators. This includes your family members and friends that may want to come down and watch or support. Only registered entrants are allowed into the event." That statement is in direct conflict with the promise made by SCCA President Mike Cobb on the JDP Townhall that juni...

Canceled by ACS? From what I'm hearing, it sounds like San Bernardino is not being real helpful with getting ACS approved to have any events. I took a look through the SB county website and they only have mentions of the California Department of Public Health guidance which currently does not allow...

Just confirmed that the May 23-24 event at TH did occur without any issues. So if we can ever find a venue..... ACS has contacted us with an updated request for our COVID response plan. Over the weekend I drafted up a new document using the San Diego Region's plan as a template. Hopefully we can ge...

Re: Next event?

Not a bad idea Bill. At this point Buttonwillow in the summer may still attract enough people.

We could also look at renting out the skid/drift pad at Willow Springs as well. It's gonna be hot everywhere but I'm sure we can get some people to still come out.

Awesome! Thank you for the kind and complete response. I may do the competition runs alone and then see how things go The big upside to doing the Saturday Practice event is that you will have the opportunity to ride in other people's cars which can go a long way in terms of improving your own drivi...

Re: Extreme street, should it replace CST?

I'm definitely leaning towards using the XS classes and running one indexed class of XS-A and XS-B together. How much does your car weigh Jacob? I think your setup is literally the perfect example of why XS class exists. A sweet ride, not built exclusively for solo, but for the owners enjoyment at ...

Re: Historic 1 Proposed Rules change.

With so many options, I wonder if bringing in more participants first would help shape the class. As Sean mentioned on the call, we have in the past, broken out an individual class from an index class once there is sufficient participation. Once people are racing heads up, the pax thing becomes a n...

Re: Historic 1 Proposed Rules change.

I'll re-word here what I tried to explain on the call last night. The PAX for the Historic classes (all of them) should not be tailored to make them competitive with the official PAX classes given to us by the SCCA. The PAX is calculated yearly to make competition "fair" for drivers who build cars t...

Re: Historic 1 Proposed Rules change.

This seems to have gotten way too complicated for a local class. Looks like Doug's #5 option makes the most sense to me. Keep HIST1 & 2 as is with the addition of cars in Brian's post. If someone want's to run a non-SCCA classed car, use CST or CSM (actually has always been available on MSR, the li...

Re: 2/8/20 SCCA Video

I prefer the video on the side even if it's 'lopsided' because you get a true picture of how close you are to the cones. The in car view is misleading - it's hard to tell if you are actually close to key apex cones. The line has limited benefit if you are missing your marks. Stephen, I understand y...

Re: new electric class?

EV-x is listed as an exhibition class for now in the Pro Solo index. I think the intent will be for EV-x to be the "mod" class for EV's.

You'll still need to find a way to mount a lightning rod to your Bolt if you want it to be competitive
