Re: XEV/XS Rules
Imma be honest, we don't really know what we're doing. No one reads the rules, myself included, and I can't be bothered to care to go and follow them to the "t" as trying to herd a volunteer organization into doing checks and balances is futile. The board procedures really need an entire r...

Re: XEV/XS Rules
Even if XEV was CST for EV's running a car with no hood or fenders isn't really in the spirit of the class but whatever. The interesting point is that we didn't follow the board bylaws to discuss all of the updates at subsequent monthly meetings before voting on them and locking in the rules for the...

Re: XEV/XS Rules
The 2022 supps read as follows: "XEV or Xtreme Electric Vehicle will mirror the XA ruleset and PAX Index but shall be eligible for electric production vehicles only." So no, you can't run a stripped out car in XEV. Normally we take a pretty relaxed stance for minor infractions if the class...

Re: CST and Extreme Street Classes 2022
Just wondering if there is any chance our local PAX class will ever allow CAM back in it? CAM has been around since 2014 what are we afraid of? It's still not a "real" class. Same as XS. The SCCA is still afraid of it, I'm personally not that afraid of it but will acknowledge that it's op...

Re: CST and Extreme Street Classes 2022
In response to requests for changes to local classing for CST, XA, and XB, plus electric vehicles, the following was approved by the Board for 2022: - CST will remain in place. There was not a clear majority for eliminating CST in favor of XS classes. - A new class of XEV (Extreme Street Electric) ...

Re: 2022 Schedule - are there autocross dates yet?
Our contract for the 2022 season is getting finalized right but the January event should be 1/22-23 barring any unexpected changes. The rest of the calendar will be posted very soon.

Re: What Class Is My Car?
Hi, I have a 1993 Stock Honda Del Sol. Under the current regs, if I got coilovers without lowering the vehicle and maintained the stock suspension geometry, would I still be in HS or would I get bumped to another class? You would need to keep the OEM springs installed or possibly use the same sprin...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
Hi guys what class would my 2007 bmw 335i be in? I have bolt ons (exhaust, intake, etc) thanks in advance. Because you have an intake you'll be bumped up into the Street Touring categories which allow intake, exhaust, tunes, suspension and larger wheels/tires. If your car is a turbo then it's in ST...

Re: Alternate Sites?
I see San Diego is going to give the stadium at Lake Elsinore a shot. Do we know anything about that site? It's a very small location that gets real hot in the summer time. We certainly have the option of running there but with it's small size I'm not certain if it's worth it over running events at...

Re: Alternate Sites?
I'm still new-ish here so I'm probably asking questions that have been answered multiple times, but I'm just curious, what's stopping us from running at Angels stadium? Seemed roomy enough and BMW ran their event there. Also has the club looked into Dodger stadium or Pomona fairgrounds? Looks like ...

Re: Alternate Sites?
If this would help, please advise. Knowing which sites we're interested in, or which we've assessed/ dismissed (and why) would help. Similarly, what are the general site requirements? Finally, can anyone offer insight into the relationship between SCCA / PCA? Is this an area where the clubs can sup...

Re: Alternate Sites?
I'm of the opinion that we really ought to start considering sites we wouldn't have 5+ years ago. If we lose fontana are we just going to stop racing? I get that pot holes suck and make track design difficult but that may be a reality we just have to deal with or otherwise end up like other regions...

Re: Alternate Sites?
Santa Anita is pot hole city and their management hasn't been receptive to having us back. Berth 46 is very small and has a decent amount of bumps and ditches to cross.
We've looked at holding some alternate style small events at the Port but nothing's materialized.

The Sunday Entry w/ 4 Extra (X) Runs is the package that gives you 4 extra runs after your 4 competition runs. If X-Runs are sold out you can still purchase this package and be placed on the waitlist. In the event nobody with the X-run package drops out of the event your entry will be converted to t...

Re: Tentative COVID-19 Guidelines Starting June 20th
Any idea on when minors may be allowed at the autocross events again? I know this is probably a pointless question since I'm sure there's no definitive answer yet. But I'm planning on attending the May event, and hope that I can bring my 13 yo daughter, as she's been dying to come and ride shotgun....

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
Hi Jon, Welcome to our club! Your research would be correct in that your modifications have exceeded the limits of the stock class rules. With the modifications you've listed below your car should be legal in Street Touring Roadster (STR) although I'm not 100% your frame rail braces are legal. That ...

Re: Future of CST??
CS-M could always be a place to play for "catch-alls" unless that is being deleted. CS-M will likely stay as it's the only class for unrestricted race tires. It's been dormant for a long time but could serve as the last remaining no-rules classes with the caveat that the cars must be &quo...

Re: Future of CST??
Fair enough. I drive a Lotus 7, so I will not fit into one of the XS classes. When will CST be phased out? While you're ineligible for XS the Lotus 7 still has a number of places to compete in the SCCA rulebook: CS, SSP, and DP Granted there are restrictions on each of those classes and 2/3 are Hoo...

Re: Future of CST??
You are correct, the current plan is to retire CST in exchance for Xtreme Street (XS-A/B). There are very few cars that would not be able to compete in either of the XS classes which separated by weight class and has a very open rule book. That being said every single car currently racing in CST wou...
