Re: Need a Garage for 2 -> 3 Months

I'd found 2 or 3 storage places that had ground level units that they were OK with being used for vehicles, but yeah, it's the ridiculous access times that make them really not an option. But I lucked out, in that asking the guys at the garage I take my daily driver to if they had any suggestions, f...

Need a Garage for 2 -> 3 Months

We're about to have some work done at the house which will necessitate moving my Lotus out of the garage for 2 to 3 months. Anyone have any suggestions for places I might look into. I'd prefer West LA or South Bay, but will consider anywhere in Los Angeles if the facility and price are right, especi...

Re: Pics/Vids from 4/22 & 4/23 Event

Eddie, You were short cutting in the 3rd section. As you were coming up the hill (from the drain tubes), the 1st right, you needed to turn more right to get to the next cone (to turn left up the hill). There were 2 walls there. You drove straight to the 2nd wall, and not the 1st. Watch some of the ...

Re: Pics/Vids from 4/22 & 4/23 Event

Run 4 was your best so it doesn't change the results, but I can undo the other DNF's if you want. Naw, not worth it. My main reason for posting wasn't about the times/results, it was more to make sure I wasn't screwing up in reading the course. And yes, I know that (lots) more seat time is what I n...

Re: Pics/Vids from 4/22 & 4/23 Event

I'm doing this purely for fun (and still having a blast, despite my times), as I know I'm never going to be the worlds greatest AutoX'er, so I really wanted to just make sure I wasn't mis-reading the cones and course and missing some subtle gate/pointer. I don't have a video of run 1 as the camera s...

Re: Pics/Vids from 4/22 & 4/23 Event

OK, now the results are posted, I see that 3 of my (counting) 4 runs were posted as DNF's. Can someone help out this other schmuck who doesn't seem to be able to point his vehicle in the right direction. :shock: OK, I know some of the lines I take are questionable, but having watched, re-watched, an...

Re: Garmin Virb X action cam

The awesome thing you can do with the Garmin that you still can't do with any GoPro is that you can connect a wireless Bluetooth OBD2 unit to get vehicle data like RPM, A/F ratio, brake activation, coolant temp, etc and also overlay all this on your video. Depending on your car. It seems the initia...

Re: Revised 11/13 Run Order

According to the sign ups, at MotorSportReg, I'm the only CSM driver signed up, at present.

So I explained it to myself, and after a large bribe, I agreed. :lol:

Cheers,

Re: Revised 11/13 Run Order

I almost never move classes across lunch, but there were barely enough pre-registered in the original 3 afternoon groups to make one group, so the major reshuffle was needed. Well, the class I'm in (CSM) HAS moved across lunch, and my only option for the day is to drive/work in the morning. What ar...

Re: Course data... aquisition in non-OBD2 cars

garmin stuck a couple virbs on KJ's car at nationals one year. Definitely still gives G data without obd2. The lateral g-force display has been smoothed out a lot in a later version of the software since that video was shot. To confirm, here is a snapshot showing what data you get from a Virb XE, b...

Re: Course data... aquisition in non-OBD2 cars

All the G-Metrix stuff is available with just the camera. None of that data relies on the ODB2 dongle. One thing I did notice though. If you just turn on the recording with the lever, without turning the camera on first, it doesn't start recording the G-Metrix stuff until the GPS has a lock. So the ...

Re: Endless Summer Autocross June 11-12 Registration

Please note that the entrance to El Toro via Marine Way will be closed. Please make plans to enter via Irvine Blvd. Looking on the Event Locations page, this map has replaced the one that (from memory) shows exactly where inside the Great Park we have to go. Can that one be added back, as it's the ...

I have the same question.

Also the link to the current points card list above takes you to a private Google Drive location, so the list isn't visible.

Many thanks for clarifying Robert.

I'm guessing that from your comment about CST and reading the CSCC Supplement, that I could also run in CSM with the Advan's.

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Hi all, I just did the SCCA Starting Line school in San Diego and am itching to try a "real" course. So I guess I need to know which class my car, a 2007 Lotus Exige S, fits in. It currently has a KoldFire 270 tune loaded, but I also have an original ECU that I can swap in if necessary. Th...
