Re: Extreme street, should it replace CST?

I would encourage it, if only for rules parity with other SCCA clubs in the area should someone want to jump around.
It's index will also get regular attention from RR if you're into that sort of mathing.

Re: Pit Jacks

The Subaru OE scissor jack at least was equipped with a 19mm bolt that matched the wheel lugs, so you could use the same tool to jack/lower.. also made it fairly effective with a 24V high-torque cordless impact to zip it up and down reasonably quick in for the rally team i worked with back in the day.

Yup!
Easiest way to check is to try and open the link in an Incognito window.

Re: 2019 Schedule

Could use a clarification? The last event is listed Nov30-Dec1 on the first post, but both MSR and the Google Calendar have it as Dec 7-8? The Nov 30- dec 1st is our annual Cal Club school and Practice, not a points event. From the first post in this thread: NovemberDecember 30-1 - Test n Tune/Even...

Re: Which tires to get? BFG or Bridgestone

First.. the tested numbers: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/summer-tire-test-bfg-rival-vs-bridgestone-re-71r-v/ IMHO: The BFGs are basically as fast as RE71s. The RE71 is generally a stiffer carcass, and a little sharper, where as the BFGs enjoy a little more slip angle. I also believe th...

Normal runs do go into Sun AM, so you would have a work assignment that needs to be completed on Sunday. Skipping Sunday entirely, without making agreeable arrangements with the Event Master/Chief Steward, would flag you as a "Did not work", likely dismissing your Sat runs entirely and not...

I registered for Intermediate. Haven't run with TinA before, or Autoclub... so pointbys on straights seems like a reasonable balance currently.

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Is there a benefit for choosing one or the other (STR vs CST), I'm assuming you can only be part of one? I generally encourage people to participate in the lowest possible class that their car qualifies for, as you will be more accurate in PAX index (Think of it like a golf handicap based on car mo...

Re: Miata year/model recommendations

Coil-overs alone won't put a NB out of street class, as long as the perch height is stock. I'd defer to Dennis, as he has the only ES nationally prepped NB 99 sport in CalClub at the moment. https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/909/991/48c.jpg True, but the common vernacular definition ...

Okay...I am pretty well set on a 1999 sport...just hard to identify those without seeing the doorjamb sticker designation. Three spoke steering wheel, roll up windows and tan interior? Tan interior is not a required for a sport. this thread might help: https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=65...

Re: CST Tire Treadwear Rules Change

2 cents, with no dog in this fight... Lowering treadwear ratings to a number outside of common rulesets opens up a future potential difficulty of someone actually coming up with a good tire at the 100TW mark, and suddenly the class is upset until a rule revision can take place, banning anyone who bo...

Allow people getting started later in the season (there's a novice school next mont...
