How to stabilize car mounted cameras?
Has anyone come up with a "neat trick"?
For a windshield mounted smartphone type setup.
This would be IN ADDITION to optical or digital stabilization and/or processing stabilization.
Sort of a mini gimbal/shock absorber thingy.

Camera security systems question
I got some really good recommendations on an inside the house security system that I installed myself a few years ago (GE Simon). I am looking to install outside cameras & a recorder at my house. Are there any recommendations on the different brands sold at Home Depot, Lowes, Costco, etc? They a...

Work requirement 7/14 event
Does LA have any FSAE or other students that can be hired for the work requirement like we do in SD?
My friend is doing chemo (almost over) & needs either an easy (timing slips etc.) job or would rent a student.
Thanks!

BMW part in Fontana - need favor for friend
I am posting this for the guy who bought my 95 M3. He lives in Rhode Island and has found a spoiler at M&M Imports (which is near the Speedway) in Fontana. The don't ship, so he is looking for a favor of someone to pick up the part & pack it & ship it to him in Rhode Island. If you would...

Re: April Fastrack
Stock fluids or better (Redline)? :) I think I had stock oil in it - it was a very long time ago so not sure as I did run Redline in several Corvettes I had. But on the C5 the trans temp gets to 300+ within as few as 3 hard laps on a hot day there. No oil is going to protect well at that temperatur...

Re: Who has JRI shocks?
They worked, but it frustrated the heck out of me when I would go full "minus" to count the sweeps and they would get stuck there. I broke several "tools" off trying to move the adjuster off the stuck position. Drove me nuts. i'm no expert, but aren't you supposed to count turns...

Re: Video shake question
I use the DeShaker ( http://www.guthspot.se/video/deshaker.htm ) Plug-in for Virtual Dub ( http://www.virtualdub.org/ ) to eliminate camera shake. There are a lot of settings in DeShaker, so you'll have to figure out what settings work with the video you're trying to stabilize. Both Virtual Dub and...

Video shake question
For hand held videos (don't go into pro stuff like gimbals)IF your camera does not have it built in, is there editing software that works "better" than YouTube's option? YouTubes is bloody awful.
Thanks if you know anything about this.

Re: Who has JRI shocks?
Thanks Toby, I need shocks on my c5z, so these may be the ones, or Penske's. I know over the years Penske/Koni has been the Vette shock but times change. Don't like Koni's that much. :) Looking at SS results at the Nationals this last year, I see at least 4 of the top 5 finishing cars were on Konis...

Re: Who has JRI shocks?
Well, the Penskes are tried and true, right? It's always a bit of a gamble trying something new or different but the JRi's are priced well and all the tech stuff I've read sounds promising. Here's the C5 package http://www.hancheyvehicletech.com/category/JRi.html" onclick="window.open(thi...

Just looking for new shocks and this name came up. I haven't bought any in 4 years so my shock knowledge is a bit dated.
