Re: Everybody - Please read - Club consolidation

.... Eventually the "e-board" (region) stepped in and started to run a large portion of the events, which also helped save the region financially. Since then the events have had a much greater consistency and our participation has continued to grow.... I don't know about this statement. I...

Re: Wider car setup

I did the same with my accord a decade ago.. 225 Hoosiers in front 205 v700 in the back.. Trouble with mixing tires is they typically change differently with heat. This specific case I can see the hoosiers being super sticky cold, then fade as the V700s get good, i.e. your rotation characteristics ...

Re: The March Events Are Now Open For Registration

I believe it's the new "Early/Late" pre-reg structure that's catching people. Prices/policies have been the same for better part of a decade, now there's a change mid-season. Also because of the consistency most people have waited until the last week to pre-reg, which if they didn't read t...

Art can give you SCNAX history (Southern California Nissan AutoX club!), bleeds into San Diego too. Jay W Actually SCNAX = Southern California National AutoX Club I was quoting the original acronym. Re: Jul 16-17 Snow Valley AutoX/Tarmac RallyX

Pre-registration is open until tomorrow night for both events. After that, you can walk up, but it'll cost you a little more. Both days are light on attendance, so we're looking at getting a TON of runs. Saturday's Versus AutoX currently has almost equal Miatas and AWD Subarus on the list. While the...

Pre-registration ends on Thursday!

Both days are low on entries, but we'll go forward regardless. Last chance at the high altitude fun until next year.

Attention AutoX Drivers. Because one time at altitude is just not enough! JayCom has an interesting weekend coming up July 16-17. We're escaping the inland heat again and climbing up Big Bear Mountain to Snow Valley Mountain Resort (Running Springs, Ca). 20 degrees cooler last I checked. We're putti...

Yeah I'm thinking rotories and S2000s are most affected by the air, high reving small displace. The torque machines seemed to hold up a little better. Nothing beats the turbo though. Pre-Registration closes tomorrow at mid-night. After that, walk up only and it's +$15.

The infamous "Generic Recycled Trophies" are just about done. There seems to be a theme of tastelessness this year. ;)

if anyone could suggest some little things to check for considering the car has 140k on it. If you don't know the history of the timing belt, water pump and clutch, set aside a little budget for it. Shocks too. If they're original OE, they're marshmellows. After you get some good seat time in, upgr...

Re: Shop to fix my race brakes

The shop I used seemed to get it figured out pretty quickly. They told me they just snugged everything up. I was tightening things up, but it started to get that "stripping" feeling. Mike E brought up a good point that what I was feeling was probably the copper compressing. They bled and i...

Re: Shop to fix my race brakes

Have you tried flare savers (copper flare washers) if tightening it just doesn't work? Mesa hose has them in most sizes. Are these for flares or for AN fittings (Bill mentioned over the weekend). I've yet to have an AN problem, but I haven't exactly put a lot of pressure on the system yet either. I...

Need a lyft- San Diego to H.B. Friday

Anyone attending the Match Tour Friday festivities and driving home past Huntington Beach?

I'd like to avoid driving the ES Miata back and forth if I can.

I live pretty close to the 405, and hear I'm great company!

Shop to fix my race brakes

I give up. After several attempts my ground up custom brake kit for the RallyMiata is leaking less, but leaking still. I need a shop who can fix the several leaky spots, mostly flare connections. Might need to remake a few lines. And will need a proper bleed since apparently I'm too impatient to do ...
