Re: Kia Stinger GT AWD or RWD?

Actually, the new Supra is very intriguing, IMO. About the same size as FRS. There are some first drives and basic dimensions/specs online and in the magazines. A completely different car than the Stinger of course since it is a 2-seat sports car and has more power. If that sounds good to you, you m...

Re: Kia Stinger GT AWD or RWD?

A great street car, BTW. Under 5 seconds to 60 in the RWD, and tons of room.

Re: Kia Stinger GT AWD or RWD?

Ron, the Stinger GT is a great handling car for what it is: a rather on the large size GT sedan. The new Genesis G70 is a much shorter and lighter car that is based on the same platform and drivetrain. It's only just now being made available in the US though and is going to cost a little more. The S...

Fixed that for you. This shouldn't come as a surprise. I (Gary Thomason) predicted (told us) the end five (six) years ago  or... (numbers guesstimated) 3rd Annual Fontana Pro Solo, 11 times removed. Wow, that's amazingly funny Craig! The power structure at Great Park changes their mind ...

Re: April Fastrack

Stock fluids or better (Redline)? :) I think I had stock oil in it - it was a very long time ago so not sure as I did run Redline in several Corvettes I had. But on the C5 the trans temp gets to 300+ within as few as 3 hard laps on a hot day there. No oil is going to protect well at that temperatur...

Re: April Fastrack

Don't try running a C5 Z06 at Big Willow in the Summer more than 3 laps either. You will lose the transmission, and the diff will be very unhappy as well.

Re: CAM Class Added

The last Championship we had 167 timed entries. I think we should have 167 classes. Just keep adding classes and eventually you'll win one. Let's also add age brackets, married, single, kids and your income. :D Steve, Although you are absolutely, positively correct in the above statement, it is sti...

Re: Who has JRI shocks?

Thanks Toby, I need shocks on my c5z, so these may be the ones, or Penske's. I know over the years Penske/Koni has been the Vette shock but times change. Don't like Koni's that much. :) Looking at SS results at the Nationals this last year, I see at least 4 of the top 5 finishing cars were on Konis...

Nationals Co-Drive

I know it's late in the game here, but due to a change in plans I have a seat open in the Viper for a SS co-drive at the Solo Nationals. The car is better than last year and surprisingly easy to drive quickly. It will be a top contender with the right driver. I plan to use an enclosed trailer, so ow...

Re: Blast from the past - 2002

What a great video! Brings back many memories from that era, especially Renee at her best :gpower: I ran a few events at Buttonwillow, including one where I was DSQ'ed after a BIG 4 wheels off in the black ASP Corvette. The Berrys (Berries?) were finding Buttonwillow dirt in that car years later aft...

Re: FS: XP Corvette. Reduced price. 17k.

George, Mine was a later car than yours - '86 Turbo with a regular 5-spd trans. I bought it brand new for $9300 - my first new car actually. I ran almost no events in it still stock, and by the time I was done it was very low with what was then considered large wheels and tires, stiff springs, and e...

Bob, you're not old. But OTOH, I think Steve Coe may have actually invented the sport ;)

Tom, I knew you hadn't seen that car, which is why I phrased it that way. I wasn't autoxing in the late 70's, and didn't know you were?

'00 actually, but still the S52. The S54 version would be fun, but with the longer gearing - and no update / backdate - I think I'd prefer the S52. Mike Ah. I didn't even know the gearing was so much longer in the 2001. I have driven a 2007-08 Z4 M, and remember being really disappointed because I ...

Gotta consider the 400 feet of straight and the drag start when looking at overall PAX at a Pro - helps the power cars.
