Re: Pro Solo Launching - Help

Another thing.... I really think most ProSolo drivers leave too aggressively. I see some pretty intense tirespinnage off the line. If the clock start were 40 feet out that would make sense to me. But with the clock just a few inches, I think its the wrong approach. But to each their own. That crowd...

Re: 2010 San Diego National Tour Discussion

Its funny.... Qualcomm is Jason and Randy's home court, but their cars work better at El Toro. My home court is El Toro, but my car works better at Qualcomm. Hmmmmm.... I don't really care how my car does in San Diego. I do care about how it does at El Toro, Wendover, and Lincoln, all of which have...

Re: Size: 285/30R18 (24.8" tall) or 315/30R18 (25.6") for GT3?

So, for the 2010 El Toro Pro, shall we hand the trophy to the guy with the GT3 and save him an axle? No doubt the GT3 is the best SS car at a Pro, and Gary the best driver, but no free trophies will be handed out. Perhaps if the rest of SS is lucky, we can talk him into finding a Z06 to drive inste...

Jason, do you 315, 325 or 345 on Viper? That's a good example of a long geared car and the tire choice. On Kumho V710 I run 315front/335 rear On A6 I've run 315front/345rear and 335front/345 rear Stock is 18" 275 front and 19" 345 rear I don't really have any gearing choices to make, the ...

... The 305 pretty much solves this issue. I just wish it was shorter! ... So what is considered the ideal max speed in 2nd? There isn't a (legal) tire short enough to get the GT3, C6 Z06, or Viper down to their "ideal" 2nd gear max speed in Solo, if there were such a thing. They're all 1...

No doubt I would greatly benefit from the Evo school, and I need to do that some time in the future... Hm, stock the C6 Z06 has 19 in the back so I guess "Junior Johnson" is running ASP like the Lynchs... I was thinking to keep the stock wheels size to have the option to run SS... Anyway,...

Results will only be valid for the course you test on. Not all courses are created equal.
Should also try 255/285. I heard somebody once even ran 285s all around

Inch-for-inch I've found the two very similar in performance. The differentiator is Hoosier often offers more inches for the same car/wheel combination. Kumhos seem to last longer though, for cars that chew tires.

I bought that same software a couple years back at Costco. Maybe I just suck at that sort of thing, but I found the software to be hard to use and the results always looked like crap. Fortunately the real house and yard turned out a bit better. :P

Jon, this is how I interpret things- Take a legal cat for your car - it has an inlet diameter and and exit diameter. The stock Civic piece is a little under 2", most of the aftermarket pieces are 2", but some are even more, like the 2.25" piece you found. It's conceivable there are 2....

thats how i saw the rule as well. I installed my new aftermarket cat by centering the brick where the old brick was centered at. Brick location? I would be more worried about flange location. A6s or 710's are fine on the street/freeway. Just be extra cautious about puddles or anything sharp that could damage them. Street driving warms them up more than not street driving, but probably not enough to constitute a traditional "heat cycle". As long as your toe settings are reasonab...

These threads are fun. First it was inferior-sized tires, then narrower-than-stock wheels, now it's buggering ride height and alignment on the fastest Z06 at 2009 Nats. Can't wait to see what's in store for us next - ECU reflash for cylinder deactivation? :?
