Re: New Years Drive ... You Guys Missed Something Cool ...

End to an otherwise nice day for most of us ... John P helps Kathy and Doug change out the rear flat ... which on the S2000 means putting a front on the rear and putting the mini-spare in front. We couldn't find any evidence of a hole, nail, tear in the flat? Valve was also tight. http://images48.f...

You have a good car!!!
Hint.....When building a solo car it is best to do your class rules homework first before you spend money on modifications.

Re: Lets See Your Garage Photo

Casey, your garage looks pretty well done. Wish mine was three feet deeper and three feet wider to make room for work and storage. I can have some space at the back and sides, but not as much as I'd like. Wish my garage was deeper, taller and wider. If I had your garage space I would fill it with 4...

Re: Help classing a 1984 rabbit L

I think you need to add the bumpers to be in SM??? Correct. [ When building a solo car it is best to do your class rules homework first before you spend money on modifications. True in general, but it sounds like he built the car to the NASA rules.. they just don't line up with SCCA rules favorably...

Re: Help classing a 1984 rabbit L

Thank you for your input. I built the car to run NASA TTE. When i purchased the car it was missing lots of things that it needed to be a fsp car....bumpers,back seat. Your car was a FSP car that was missing a few items at the Divisional. Your car is no longer legal in any SCCA street prepared class...

Re: December 13 practice entry list

I have some time but we are saving dimes. This year we are cutting way back on all extra expenses including Christmas. We have an age cap of 12 yeas old as far as gifts. It made shopping go pretty quick this year. I may come out to speedway and help with the December 13 practice event and take some ...

Re: Class for a 1974 914

I've always had a thing for Scirocco's... I guess I'd be game for Historic SM. I'll get slaughtered, but what the hell. How do I go about getting an invite? I've always had a thing for 914's... I LOVE YOUR 914. Show up at 7:00 AM at the next Sunday event and we will work it out. Next year we may ma...

Re: Class for a 1974 914

I think you can run Historic SM with an invitation. Some thoughts about Historic and SCCA. The Historic class is a local CSCC (LA Cal Club) PAX class for older cars. Historic as a class is not recognized in other regions. Local clubs like CSCC have a few extra local classes that are not nationally r...

Corona has a dozen homes lost already, burning towards Yorba Linda Small fire in Brea Sylmar fire with dozens destroyed Palos Verdes Fire now. I hope this set of fires ends as soon as possible. I personally get very angry when I see fires start all over California on the same day. If the fires were...

Re: Need family / experience solo advice.

My son, Ozzie and I ran our first solo event (see post “Our First Event, Thanks All”) last Sunday. I have signed us up with SCCA as a Family membership and we both have our own SCCA membership numbers. We have two ’79 Scirocco’s, but I’m not sure I can afford to run both. I initially signed up in t...

how important is cost vs. potential membership? may be nice for the brochure / flyers to be good for something like 5 bucks off entry fee, or something like that. just added enticement. Re: November 9th Results

Since we're talking about safety issues, I have a question. On my second X run, I got to the end of station 1/start of station 2 (the tight increasing radius corner at the top of the course) and saw a worker frantically running off the course to get out of my way, but no one red-flagged me. I slowe...

Re: November 9th Results

Not that we could do it at our events ... but at Nationals, don't they post the results of every run "right away," so you can check them before you run again ... in case you had a DNF that you weren't aware of? The yellow sheets in the background? Yes they do. All the cones are logged too...

Re: November 9th Results

Following up on Christine's post, If you have a problem with a cone call or DNF checking with timing is the proper thing to do assuming there is somone other than a worker in there to answer your question What do you do when the 1st time you see a DNF is after final results are posted after the eve...
