Re: Painter in the IE

I found the painter Stan used. Its the Maaco near the Riverside airport. Ask for Keith. Better price than any of the other 4 painters I tried. Picked up the sidepods already and they look great.

Hey Tom, Sorry I missed your post, but thanks for the offer.

Thanks!

Yeah that's as much info as I have as well. And there are 5 Maaco's in Riverside....

Thanks Ed. Hopefully someone got more info.

Painter in the IE

Well I finally have all the fiberglass work complete and I'm looking for a reasonably priced painter in the IE. Does anyone have a "guy"? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

I believe the software is what costs 7500 bucks. I have no direct experience with reflashing an abs module but it can be done. So back to a big price tag.... I've used the software with the race ABS module. It works very well considering you can alter just about any parameter.... So yeah, back to y...

Re: ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

Mike is on point. The bosch programmable abs has come down in price. There are now many different ways to hack in a factory abs to almost any car for quite cheap (hint: the race abs is just a factory porsche 911 abs unit with different software). The performance delta between fully programmable and...

Re: ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

Having worked with the Bosch M4 competition ABS in the RR world, it is head and shoulders better than any factory implementation, even the VERY good BMW versions. There's abs and the there's fully programmable / customizable RACE ABS.... I'm guessing the same is true with the race ECU implementation...

ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

I'm not sure if anyone caught this in the July Fastrack, but the proposal (#25235) to allow ANY ABS and/or stability control in Prepaired seems ludicrous to me. The costs associated (~10K) with the really good ABS systems and the resultant benefits would seem to make such a system mandatory to be co...

This is the inevitable slippery slope that the whole moving "stock" back to "street tires".... The number the manufacturer molds on the side of the tire has very little to do with the durability or grip....

SCCA issues with Motorsport reg

After renewing my SCCA membership a month ago, it still isn't showing with motorsport reg. Is there any way not to pay the $15 weekend membership and still get registered? I paid the fee last month, even though I had a current membership and didn't want to do that again.

Thanks,
Jason

Re: Cordless Impact

Casey and I have both been using the Milwakee for years. Very reliable, robust and enough torque for 1/2" and 12mm lug nuts. Not quite enough for 14mm or 5/8 that are torqued to 140 ft-lbs. Charge on a new-ish battery lasts quite a few events of changing 4 wheels. I had the Dewalt before and did not...
