Re: Next event?

Since SB county appears to have its head firmly where the sun does not shine.... Have we reached back out to the other potential venues? It seems the drive up testing centers are starting to close down (so maybe Storm stadium has?). And I wanted to say thanks to everyone involved in trying to get us...

Re: Next event?

Hey Bill, Do you know if the event last weekend at TH happened? Looks like Stanislaus County is not allowing any events at Crows.... You can have a SWAP MEET under their expanded stage 2.... But apparently an autox is too risky. Sheesh. Looking at doing the June event at TH if their events are actua...

Re: Next event?

Does anyone live close enough to AAA to have a look at "our" lot? With everything starting to open back up, maybe we can have the June event???

Have we been in touch with AAA?

Thanks,

Re: Next event?
June was canceled by the speedway not us, so nothing there. Santa Anita hasn't been responding back, not much more there. Last place for us to try would be Temecula. or you'll have to travel. There are two events in Packwood if you want some towing practice with it, lol
If th...

Next event?

It appears that many counties are starting to relax restrictions on "outdoor" activities as long as they are "non-contact", allows for social distancing, and uses face covers. I think our sport fits this bill. Any thoughts on when our next event might be? One example is: https://rivcoph.org/Portals/...

Re: Autocross Event Photos

Hey Ed, no sweat. At all! Anne may be able to take photos at the next event.... So lets see if we're in the same run group at the next event in 2023.... :(

Now that I FINALLY have a car that runs after wrenching for 2 years, NO events! Booooooo

How do you and I always run in the same group Ed! I'm always hopeful that there will be pics of my car, and then I remember, oh yeah, we were running in the same group again. ;)

Re: Painter in the IE

I found the painter Stan used. Its the Maaco near the Riverside airport. Ask for Keith. Better price than any of the other 4 painters I tried. Picked up the sidepods already and they look great.

Hey Tom, Sorry I missed your post, but thanks for the offer.

Thanks!

Painter in the IE

Well I finally have all the fiberglass work complete and I'm looking for a reasonably priced painter in the IE. Does anyone have a "guy"? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

I believe the software is what costs 7500 bucks. I have no direct experience with reflashing an abs module but it can be done. So back to a big price tag.... I've used the software with the race ABS module. It works very well considering you can alter just about any parameter.... So yeah, back to y...

Re: ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

Mike is on point. The bosch programmable abs has come down in price. There are now many different ways to hack in a factory abs to almost any car for quite cheap (hint: the race abs is just a factory porsche 911 abs unit with different software). The performance delta between fully programmable and...

Re: ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

Having worked with the Bosch M4 competition ABS in the RR world, it is head and shoulders better than any factory implementation, even the VERY good BMW versions. There's abs and the there's fully programmable / customizable RACE ABS.... I'm guessing the same is true with the race ECU implementation...

ABS and Stability control "free" in Prepared (25235)

I'm not sure if anyone caught this in the July Fastrack, but the proposal (#25235) to allow ANY ABS and/or stability control in Prepaired seems ludicrous to me. The costs associated (~10K) with the really good ABS systems and the resultant benefits would seem to make such a system mandatory to be co...
