Re: New to the area, been around the cones once or twice..

I'm a bit late to the party Shane, but I'll just add: ⋅ Welcome to the region! Get something - anything - and join us at El Toro in a couple weeks. Be sure to sign up in advance. And even if you don't, get your butt out to the event to say hi and meet the yokels. ⋅ You're an anno...

Agreed! Thank you everyone for all your hard work, and for coming out to join us.

And thank *you* Brian for working the lane change box near the finish. That kept you guys busy, from what I saw.

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Paul, Based on the mods you performed, neither technically belong in Street. Your safest bet from a classing standpoint is to run in CST, but don't expect to come out on the podium there as the competitors can be quite fast. Your other option may be STS, under the catch-all in the rules. The car wit...

Because newbies wanna spend $10+ per gallon to have their butts kicked?

Re: Rules Proposal - Octane

Perhaps I'm being naive, but my *hope* is that all our competitors value the competitive spirit and developing their skills more than they value cheating.

I know I hate the feeling when I lose, but greatly appreciate a hard-earned win.

Re: Rules Proposal - Octane

It's not an option. The fuel requirements are in 3.6, which is a required section of the national rules.

We can't "supp regs" that out of existence if we want to operate SCCA events.

Re: Got the win at last weekends Optima Ultimate Street Car event!

Congrats on the Optima event Chad, but I have to say I was incredibly impressed by the times you put down at the Pro for your win in CAM.

Your car *and* your driving seem to be hitting their stride.

Steve - your penance for letting your points card lapse is... hmm...

HS Fiat 500. The electric one.

But only for the next 5 events. After that, you're free to run whatever you want. ;)

Re: First auto cross this weekend

To simplify it for you Jose, at a minimum you need: ⋅ The Spec suspension package from Tire Rack. Yes, you need the front struts, rear shocks, Pro Plus kit (springs and bars) and the alignment kit (rear arms.) No, you can't use the standard Koni FRS/BRZ dampers or even the factory dampers....

Re: Car Seat Cover

I use these after the gym or any time I've made a mess of myself - say, climbing around beneath a car, lying on the ground. Waterproof, washable. They aren't a "snug" fit, in that they just drape over the seat back / headrest and hang down from that, but it probably does what you need it t...

Welcome to the region Jose! There are a number of important posts in this very forum, with lots of background. Please peruse them for great info. I added it to my calendar. I think the info was somewhere on this site.

I can't guarantee this is correct, but I have it from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at his shop, located at 123 Monte Vista in Costa Mesa.

Perhaps someone else can confirm that this is correct.

Gas tax ballot petition

I almost put this in the Off Topic forum, but we all use fuel for our sport so... There is an effort being made to petition for a ballot initiative in the elections later this year. The gist of it is to repeal the newly enacted gas tax increase, as well as the car registration increase. If you would...

Rick, I see your point - and it's correct - but it's not in disagreement with Mike's point. His point was to emphasize to all drivers before their fun runs that if they've spun and ruined their run, they should be conscientious enough to proceed without taking out more cones. I have to agree with th...

Re: Magnetic Number Vendors?

In addition to the rules Randy provided, keep in mind the idea is making them easily legible. Think "contrast," since that makes them very quickly and easily read by course workers and timing trailer staff. If you have a dark blue car, don't go with black. Get them in white. If you have a ...
