Re: How to tell which group is running?

I believe we bought wireless speakers a couple years ago. Do those work? If we can extend the PA range another 150', it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. From my post on page 1 "We've tried wireless speakers and they were crap, nowhere near the claimed power. You really need something with ...

Re: How to tell which group is running?

Couldn't hear the PA from the starter position on Saturday morning due to wind - just fyi. rechargeable air horn for indicating worker change over/check-in. wooo wooo. it's okay to blow sound just 5 small times a day right? https://www.amazon.com/Ecoblast-Rechargeable-Signal-Safety-Sports/dp/B009LN...

Re: How to tell which group is running?

I'd probably prefer an old school analog method. Autocross is my escape from technology, and because my phone hooks up to my car, I typically turn it off at events. A flag is very simple and only requires a glance towards the motorhome to answer the question. The only problem is making sure somebod...

Re: How to tell which group is running?

Since there is no break between run groups 2 and 3 it can appear to "blend" that might cause people to arrive late to work or grid to run. I can see it being a minor issue but would be nice to know while in paddock. I liked the PCA flag system when they remembered to change the flag color...

Re: 2018 Event Statistics

From what I observed from up on the berm someone directing traffic a little at grid may have helped some. The third group seemed to have bunched up a bit much over by the multi-driver lanes while the ones closer to the paddock seemed empty. Also maybe color coordinating the cones to mark some of th...

Re: TNiA

Mega fun in a car! I haven't driven any local events, but have done several in North and South Carolina, including Charlotte Motor Speedway roval which uses 90% of the oval! Driven a number of road courses, but that was the first time on an oval, incredible experience. Do it!

Not to me, I've tried most of the others, prefer AXWare. Note that the hold-the-starts were not computer related, they were operator related.

Then your golden, go for it!

Um, there's something wrong with the list, Anthony. I know for sure a number of people higher than 742 that have 2018 points cards, and it stops there for 2017, too.

Do not understand how that happened. The very first thing I did when creating the event was update to the 2018 Class Definition file I had created a month ago. :?

Updated now.

Re: Why Get Your Start at Autocross Sunday?

Umm, does that mean the entirety of the original post is invalid, or that getting someone experienced to ride along is "fat chance, fat boy." I was told that being a noob passenger with a vet driving would be unlikely on Sundays. To my eyes Randy just posted something similar to George's ...

Re: New Racer Hello/Questions

Just to be clear, the Saturday Practice is sold out. There are limited entries for Practices (none for Sunday Championships), but you can still come, take rides with people and just get a feel for what it's all about.

Welcome to the group, hope to see you Saturday or Sunday.

Re: 2017 Event Run Time Statistics

One metric we don't have, and I assume is not available is % event time with no cars on course. Pity as that would be a great thing to somehow minimize. Attention and discussion are the prelude to improvement. Not suggesting we agonize over last year's data so much as doing an event by event data-b...

Re: January Event Registration Open

Note that the Practice is currently full, so if you register now you will be on the wait list. There is a small bug in the system that will also wait list you for Sunday if you register for that, too, so you don't show up on the Sunday entry list. Never fear, you are in the Sunday event and we have ...

Re: January Event Registration Open

Is the run order posted somewhere? No, not yet. Partly because we often start from scratch and rearrange the groups because people get new cars or change classes or new classes are added. This can mess with the group balance. Partly because the format is not settled. Low turnout like December would...
