Re: El Toro Results

I do think that a 13b powered Miata could be very fast and competitive in SM2, with the only drawback being not enough tire compared with the McKee-mobile. i'd say the main drawback of a 13b in a miata for SM2 would be that it doesn't meet the rules. ;) word on the street is you have to clearance t...

THAT'S why BMW's are so fast - they weigh less than they do!

Re: El Toro Results

ok i figured it out... Bills car needs a 6speed trans that he drives all the time in 3rd gear with the standard 6sp final drive ratio to give a top speed of 79mph at 7500rpm. combine that with a 1.8l turbo motor with a turbo sized to spool at ~3000rpm so that you're in boost by 30mph in 3rd with 2nd...

Re: El Toro Results?

Think I can make up 4.8secs. w/more hp? Don't think so. I do not subscribe to the belief, like others, that an SM2 Miata will take down McKee/Strelnieks (sp?) oh ye of little faith. You said yourself you were drinking latte's on the straights. Re gear your car for 75-77mph and give it the power to ...

And what I'm saying is that if I had power to go with my sports car's good handling, and dare I say, good driving, on that power course, I wouldn't have been so far out, in seconds, from Andy (2.5secs.!) PAXing 2.5 secs. out is nothing to write home about. hahah true. So when do we build your car u...

Imagine if the BerryEvo had an Air Dam ... we didn't have enough gear/power for that course. Cough, cough, bu&#^#$%, cough, cough... Well i guess if we could fit 415's (equivalent tire/weight ratio of your miata adjusted for how much more we weigh) I wouldn't be complaing about not having any p...

Do they create a low pressure area under the car? Or something else? not so much create low pressure as much as they keep the air from going under the car and filling in the low pressure that the big ass diffusor that's hanging off the rear generates. only class in the world that i know of that all...

7075 loses strength in high temp use. Good to know. I would have thought 2024 was too soft. :? they all loose strength with temp. 2024 just looses less of it then 7075 does. also I was wrong about heat capacity. Al does have a higher heat capacity then steel does. it also has better thermal conduct...

I even went as far as to offer to build an emoticon pack that all aaron had to do was upload one file to add all the new ones. But apparently after i pitched a big stink about the links opening in new windows and my proposed solution caused the whole forums to crash I lost my credibility.

Stoptech used to make aluminum rotors... This isn't a new rule, al. rotors are legal in STX and STU. If by "some" applications you mean those where no brake pad actually touches the aluminum rotor then I would agree with you. Otherwise aluminum is a terrible material for brake rotors. So,...
