Re: FS: Koni Sport shocks for 2009+ RX-8

$300 for a set of low-mile Koni yellows for an RX-8. This is a good deal even if you just wanted to replace worn-out stock shocks!

FS: Koni Sport shocks for 2009+ RX-8

I am selling a set of four Koni Sport (yellow) shocks for a series 2 (2009-2011) RX-8. They have about 10,000 miles of use. Fronts have the typical top adjustment knob. Rears are the more primitive style where you have to push the piston in and then twist the body to adjust the damping. They were dy...

2010 RX-8 Sport (<19,000 miles) CS setup: SOLD

http://www.idsfa.net/rx-8/forum.jpg CAR IS SOLD. I haven't been out to autocross in a while, and while the RX-8 is fun to drive around town, I think someone else would enjoy it more at this point. It's a 2010 Sport with 6-speed manual transmission. It has a rear swaybar from the R3 suspension, Koni...

Re: 12v tire inflator

Marshall, have you tried the CO2 in practice? It seems like there is so little mass of CO2 that it would come to ambient temperature quickly. Also, because the critical point of CO2 is 88 degrees F, under most conditions we deal with in autocross there's almost no heat of vaporization to chill the C...

Re: 12v tire inflator

I have a Coleman "Heavy Duty" tire inflator that unfortunately was discontinued years ago. I used one for a couple years before it took a walk at an American Autocross Series event, and I was lucky to find two more right after they were discontinued. The only major failure has been due to ...

Re: DIY Alignment Question

One tip to help with the slop in the adjustment markings: when setting the adjuster, always approach the desired mark from the same direction. For example, always turn the bolt head counter-clockwise past the desired mark, then turn it clockwise until you hit the mark exactly, and stop. Then tighten...

Re: Air Filter

I have two things for you to consider:
1) OE type paper filters don't present much of a restriction.
2) K&N type oiled fiber filters don't filter as well as paper.

Re: NB Miata Tires Recommendations for DD/AX

I read this (or similar) in a couple other forums discussing the best tire sizes for NBs. There are several people over at the miata.net forums who seem to have a fetish for light weight tires & wheels, to the exclusion of thinking about how any other parameter might have some influence. Maybe ...

Can you give context for this? What kind of records? Not many autocross clubs have records, because they run a different course every time.

Re: Class half empty

Not wanting to argue semantics but didn't Brian H drive his car to nationals this year? I can also think of a few other top finishers that drove their cars around I know Andy Hollis drove his 2 around town in Lincoln. There's a difference between a car you are willing to drive to and from an event ...
