Re: Need S2000 clutch replacement recomendations

I'll have to check the reservoir. Last time i looked i think it was a nice gold! The delay does seem excessively long.

Re: Need S2000 clutch replacement recomendations

Obvious overwhelming support for Eric! Sounds like he does great work.

Eric - I have heard that the S2000 clutch is a much bigger PITA than most cars.

Location is always a problem too, since i'm so far away from the valley.

Re: Need S2000 clutch replacement recomendations

I have a 2004 (first year of AP2). I think it does have that delay valve, I've felt that before! (just like the 2003 WRX) The problems i was having were more evident in the 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th. It got worse the longer i drove it, but was able to drive it home on the freeway no prob. I wonder i...

Need S2000 clutch replacement recomendations

I think it's time to replace the clutch in my S2000 (45k miles). It seems to be slipping in 3rd and 4th gear when power shifting. I would like to keep it SK1 compatible. Are there any upgrades i can make, or does it all have to be OEM? Ever since i had the car, it never seemed to grab that well. It ...

Re: Which SK1 car to get

I would say the S2000 too - with CR bar. I have one (had a WRX in SK2 before that). I take it to work sometimes (1 hour drive) and it's fine. A Cayman S is probably the best mix for the handling and cruising ability. I think the S2000 will cost you less though (total ownership cost)! I've wanted to ...

Re: S2000 Brake thead

George - I plan to get OEM size and spec (no slots or holes), so i should be ok as far as i know.

Pete, I think the carbotech website says not to use AX6 with R comp lol!

Hawk fans - I looked at the blues a bit, and i can revisit, not sure how well they will work getting to and from event!

Re: S2000 Brake thead

Lets get this one going again... I have been doing Porsche HPDE events on Streets of willow with continuous lapping. The brakes fade bad after 2 laps. I''m looking for a pad that will work well for higher speed AX (80 - 100mph), track lapping and our solo events. I have heard good stuff about Carbot...

Re: Non-Shifter Kart Class for Solo?

I'm still trying to visualize Web in a kart. But then again urt Rahn has driven a kart. I resemble that remark! Karts weigh around 200, minimum weight (with stock ignition) is 385 with driver. With programmable ignition, 420. [/quote] I would be at min weight with a full tank - Lets GO!

Re: Excessive Tire Wear (Dunlop Z1s)

I think Tom has a good point. Be sure to water your tires. It has been very hot! They don't like the heat. I think TIm (white S2000) had the same problem with his Z1's.

Re: Advice needed on Ford Focus Auto-X tires

Kurt has an awesome avatar! +1 for cheaper tires. The falken 615 is good, Hancook Z212 if you can get it cheap. I run the General tire UHP for practices. It is cheap, huge size selection and is a good tire for daily driving. Also the Falken 912 (all season) was rated well by grassroots motor sports ...

Re: S2000 maintenance question

I went with the 607 diff oil, Honda MTF, and Honda Dot 3 brake fluid. Install coming soon. I sent out for blackstone tester kits to run the engine oil, diff, and trans. I'm scared what might come out. Most people changed earlier than 30K and the oil was very dirty. There is a sqealling sound when i ...

Re: STR: S2000 vrs MX-5 thoughts?

The S2000s can take way more advantage of the ST* I/H/E/ECU rules than the MX-5s can...and 8.5" wheels are available for both...although I wouldn't mind 9s... ...and 255s...and non-factory LSDs... ...not that I've been looking into this or anything... Where are you getting that I/H/E will get ...

S2000 maintenance question

Time for my 2004 S2000 (8k rpm redline) to get the 30K mile service. I wanted to know if anyone uses any special lubricants in place of the genuine honda oils. It will get diff oil, trans oil, coolant, brake fluid, engine oil. Am i missing anything? I'm going to go with genuine honda replacement (en...

The e-brake will slow the front wheels on WRX - no e-brake slides :( . It might work on an STI?
