Re: Dell Hell

In answer to the original post. I did a lot of really careful research, taking into consideration all aspects of your problem. I repeated the conditions myself and was able to reproduce the problem. In addition to the extensive laboratory work, I also consulted a team of experts in the field. The pr...

Re: L.A. Confidential

I guess I must be the only person who didn't like it. But I'm definitely not the only one who thought it a take off of Chinatown. And whose to day it wasn't, the book was written in 1990 after all. On a lighter note, watched "King Pin" last night. Campy, but what can one expect from the Fa...

Re: L.A. Confidential

I loved "Lost in Translation." Very understated movie. I'm blessed in a way in that the grocery store in the small town I live has a second-rate video rental setup. They get some big studio movies, but they also get a lot of independent films. I'm pretty much sworn off of big-studio movies...

Re: L.A. Confidential

Sorry, but LA Confidential was a poor effort to remake "China Town" in a haphazzard fashion. I had high hopes for that movie, but was terribly disappointed. Do yourself a favor, go find a copy of the widescreen original version of "China Town." It is considered the most perfectly...

Re: Looking 4 Snow Tire Recommendations (Lambo)

Depends on what you are putting them on. Blizzaks are quite good. Studs are unecessary. Hell, I ran on bald highway tires on my 6000lb Suburban (okay, so it was 4WD) just fine for two winters up here. My best recommendation is to just not drive the Lamb in the snow, it has too much power, period. No...

Re: Electronics Gurus.....Television pre-wiring

George, To address your overall concern, try to run conduit if you can. That way when technology changes, you can, for example, run fiber. And speaking of which, RUN FIBER! SPDI (I think) can still handle most signals, including audio and video. It's a great format and means only one fiber is needed...

Wanting to Come Home

Some of you may know me, some of you don't. I certainly understand that my reputation preceeds me. But this message isn't addressed to those who buy into petty rumors and games. I'm a good person, and I've always been there for the community when I was down there. Now it is time for me to ask for a ...

Re: DSP Fiat X1/9 "Starter Kit" - Trade for Motorcycle

Thanks Bob.

If I don't sell it, I'm pondering offering up the rims and suspension, and putting the car back on the street. I'd rather see it autocross. All that work I did to make it very nationally competetive - I'd sure see it wasted.

Re: 4x98 Fiat wheels - 6" or 7"

How about 6 Sierra Racing Lights with 4 Hoosier Autocrossers... If I can't sell the car (listed herein) I'm going to part it. Toss $1000 my way and I'll send you the wheels and tires and the rest of the suspension (if you send me stock struts and springs so I can re-street the car.) Give me some tim...

DSP Fiat X1/9 "Starter Kit" - Trade for Motorcycle

I autocrossed for many years down here and built several Fiat X1/9 cars. Towards the end of my career (ended due to disability) I built my current car as a viable National Champion contender. I have been trying to sell it for a while, and now know exactly what I want to do with it. If you are intere...

Re: Free In-n-Out!!!

So was my response. I don't do road trips like that anymore. My Suburban uses more tranny fluid than fuel. My Eagle Talon's motor is upside down in front of it. My Tiger doesn't stop. And my Fiat doesn't go (hey, no laughing, it was running just crappy when I decided to put the stock injectors back ...

Seen Zeitgeist or the Addendum yet?

Scary stuff. Especially to see the third part of the original, and the entire addendum made BEFORE the bailout, before the housing and credit crashes, unfold.

Re: Remembering Craig

I was sitting here at my computer, reading the news, when I was reminded of a post I've been wanting to make - to encourage people to list the things Craig taught them either directly, or through example. And dammit, the man taught me, through example, that reading the news is a good thing to do. An...

Re: Remembering Craig

When Craig Scared the Sh*t Out of Me - #1 July 1994. After heading out in an old POS Datsun B210 from Ontario, California; having driven 4 and a half days up to Alaska, picked up some dogs (oops, wasn't supposed to be but one), and gone a couple thousand miles back; we got that B210 onto the Cassia...

Re: Remembering Craig

Craig holds a special place in my heart, my mind, my past. He is among a very short list of people I admire, and is one of only two or three on that list that I have ever met. Craig was a special breed of person. In my life, I have met few with the qualities he had, few who deserved as much recognit...

Re: Remembering Craig

I only found out moments ago that Craig passed in August. My life has been in utter turmoil of late, and I haven't even had the chance to deal with this. As some of you may know, Craig was more than a friend to me, he was the father I never had. Please give me some time to deal with this, as I was o...
