Re: Nationals run days question

Having seen all the uproar and the retraction, in retrospect I have a few thoughts: Consider running FJ on Monday. It's a perennial problem, weaving them in with Open classes on Tu/Wed, Th/Fr. The logistics on it are a real nightmare. Putting them on Monday we can easily guarantee their safety with...

Re: Nationals run days question

I prefer the flexibility of being able to leave early. I think the better play would have been to require running a tour/divisional (like in the past) as a qualifying event. Next step would be to only allow registration at nats for the class that was ran at the qualifying tour. Charge a much higher ...

Re: Setup for Laura’s M2

Alright BMW fans and setup wizards. I got Simanyi saying don’t mess with the tire size, and Yom suggesting moving up to 265/285 on stock. I’m not ready to build a shed to house a new set of BBS and go to 18’s like Jacob. So for this next set of tires I’m thinking we should try the 265285 on the Bri...

Re: Setup for Laura’s M2

Go 265/285 BFG or Bridgestone as suggested. Rim width to tire size ratios IMO seems to be entirely on feel/feedback and the brand of tire. Moreso sensitive to ST classed cars. Too many variables.

That's a good point. IIRC San Diego ran stockers early and mods late for that very reason. Going to do something similar with the run order?
^this. Prep/Mod, PAX, jr karts, etc all ran PM and rotated as such. The condo people would complain of sound in the early morning.

I am very sad to announce that we lost Ira Cruz last Thursday morning. Marco has asked me to let our autocross community know and to share the arrangements below.

Re: CST Tire Treadwear Rules Change

The Maxxis RC1 is hardly a threat IMO. I have driven fresh ones and they aren't anywhere close to sticky at 120º compared to when they are 180º on track. A BFG or RE71R will be grippier even when comparing 245 vs 205. I agree with Bob that CST should be more open as those type of participants do gra...

I should also clarify that by saying “driving down participation” I don’t mean that there is negative participation trend. I mean that it is a downward pressure on growth. Just because ST is trending upwards doesn’t mean it couldn’t be trending more upwards. When the goal is to manage the performan...

Re: How to tell which group is running?

We could incorporate it in the drivers meeting to tune to 90.9 to stay up to date on the event. I think most don't know (especially newbies) that we broadcast via FM Radio. National has a dry erase board on the trailer where they write which FM frequency they are using.

Re: How to tell which group is running?

Hey guys and gals lets see all your ideas about how to tell from far away which group is running? What would be your objective? Under the current format with only four groups, if you're not running and not working, it's pretty easy to assume what group is. Who's the customer for this information? S...
