El Toro Pro Hotel Recommendations?
Hey SoCal Peeps! Soooooo..... some of us from the great white north are planning to make the trek down for the Pro - any recommendations for hotels that don't happen to be right on the train tracks? :D Non-smoking and near the site would be ideal... Let me know! Annie Bauer (or Gill, or whatever you...

Re: 5000.00 cash Big Bear Bash
We could do an Annie Bauer and buy a vette... Then sell a vette 28 days later. Heck, you wouldn't even need to keep it that long! (that said, I jumped in a Z06 for my runs at an event last weekend when the suspension slipped on my car - don't think I wasn't tempted to check autotrader for car...

San Diego Tour - anyone need a STR tire warmer?
Hi all! So one of the locals here in the Seattle area, Des Toups, (who lives part time in the Southeast) was looking for a STR co-drive for the San Diego Tour. He's a great driver, and super nice as well. He's easy going, and fun to be around; I'd let him drive my car anytime. He normally drives an ...

Re: Cougar Replacement
I'm pretty confident I don't want a FWD car. I'm going to test drive a Genesis Coupe tomorrow night, so we'll see how that goes. Jeff, make sure you drive a R Spec or Track model - the others don't have Brembos and also don't have a limited slip, and the car is useless without one! The R Spec is es...

Re: Cougar Replacement
Jeff, your grin will be as fat as the car in the Genesis though - nothing like a capable rear wheel drive car to do that. Believe me, I've autocrossed a number of FWD (or Wrong Wheel Drive - WWD) cars, including a well set up Mini S. The Genesis is MO BETTA... nuff said :gpower:

Re: Cougar Replacement
Jeff, no prob, ask questions, I'll try to answer! We got a lot of runs out of the 235's. And anyone who's seen me drive knows I drive a bit aggressively! Leonard, without the camber kit and loosening up the front suspension to get as much negative camber as possible, we maxed out at a whopping...

Re: Cougar Replacement
The Genesis has a wide rear end, far bigger than it looks. Measuring my car to Jerry Lamb's Shelby Mustang, the Genesis is a full 5" wider in the rear measuring from the edge of tread to the edge of tread. That said, it doesn't seem to have many bad habits. Get used to shifting to third, as 2nd...

Re: Tire changing service at Tour/Pro?
Ha ha - I may sell it if I can't manage to get a clean run in it. The dang car is huge - and I have lots of cone marks on the passenger side  Tom, to answer your question, with loosening everything up and getting the max, it's -0.75 degrees/side. Thankfully, there's adjustability in the rear to...

Tire changing service at Tour/Pro?
Since I expect to have a tire-eating autox car now that the SEB says I can't use my factory camber kit :unimpressed: , I need to make sure I have plans to swap out the front tires either just before or during the El Toro Pro. Does any one yet know which, if any, manufacturers may have *on site* tire...

Re: Help me pick a car
Ha ha - funny one Mr. Isley  Randy - to answer your question on SCCAForums, the bigger engine Track is in FS - you get to play with Sammy Strano with that. The suspension on the Tracks and R Spec is quite stiff, and getting in and out of the back seat on the driver's side is something she'll wa...

Re: 2009 Blytheville Pro
The transitions were offset enough to give the speed maintenance type cars a little advantage, hence seeing the PAX results you do. Also, since it's on an airstrip, there simply wasn't the width to play with, so it was a short launch straight then the courses separated... Came back toward the timing...

Re: 2009 Blytheville Pro
The course wasn't what I'd call tight (lots of people in 3rd, or close to it) but it was full of transitions (rather than sweepers) - and the start "straight" was very short...

Re: 2009 Blytheville Pro
What's more fun to drive, a FSP BMW or well handling STU STI? Well-handling is synonymous with B-M-W. Not with Subaru. Think more rally-style handling when it comes to Subaru :) Congrats Annie One of the pushiest cars I've ever driven was a D-Stock BMW 330ci... I've heard similar about the new 335'...
