Re: Newcomer here, please help!

Doesnt seem like it would imped your view. Cheap price auto glass in gardena might have a used one they can swap in. Give em a call +1 310-719-1000. They also happen to be next to one of the best autocross/race alignment shops in California, westend alignment.

Re: Newcomer here, please help!

1) Can you post a photo of the crack? 2) there is a class called, "California Street Touring" (CST) and is a catch-all class for cars with 200tw tires. It's a great place to start and from there you can learn more about the sport and which class sounds like fun. For national level classing you would...

I’m new to this. What class would I be if I got a ,13 Ford Focus st, stage 3 with E30 tune and lower sprints ?

Thanks
Depends. I reccommend California street touring and some hand shakes with fellow competitors, it's easier when the car is there when they are modified.

Re: Our March Event Is Up! March 2-3/2019

There are maps made for all courses and are posted for the chiefs. These are for safety, jr kart requirements etc, Reed posted his publicly. I would expect changes to be made as needed to accommodate weather and pavement breakup as well as site issues. Given peoples expections, some course designers...

Re: How a course takes shape

Well done Anthony. I assume you design for Sunday, then make adjustments to make it work for Saturday. Most of us will start with an idea for Sunday in mind and then will re-tool the start/finish sectors. If your design has good flow, then it should work well enough in reverse with simple visual ch...

Re: Would you like to instruct as your work assignment? - 3/3

This position also allows you to take your AVERAGE from your yearly points. You dont need to lose class/pax points to instruct!

This allowance however can only be used once per year per instructor.

Re: How a course takes shape

A few comments about the process. 1) The start was changed significantly between the paper design and the photoshopped one becuase after evaluating the safety distances I needed to eliminate the sweeper for something narrower. 2) the finish had to be changed significantly as well, but this change wa...

How a course takes shape

I hope this post inspires more people to create a course design. Even if you are unable to setup your course due to work, getting one down on paper could still help increase the variety and styles offered by our region Attached is the progression from a line on paper to a full course. My goals were ...

Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA

I haven't got any official word yet, but I think the Fresno event might be cancelled. For clarity's sake, the break-even point would have been about 75 people. Could be possible to do 4 timed runs, then 8 practice runs, with a practice price at 85 a person. I dont know the costs but generally with ...

Re: "New" Autocross Family Inbound

Welcome!! you are among friends. We have a "practice" along with each event, so there is a potential for 20+ runs for a weekend with our typical 13 event lineup plus nearby national events. Hopefully the Jr kart families will chime in soon, if not, we run Jr Karts first at our events on Sunday and y...

Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA

Has anyone contacted Kern County Raceway Part? The whole infield of the oval is paved. The area might be a bit small, I count 26 semi truck parking spots on the short side. But I think it would be similar to PIR Pro Pits that the Oregon Region used to run in, not sure if they still run at PIR. The ...

I just got word that Fresno's chapter has secured their first official event at Minter Airfield on March 9th/10th. Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Is there a benefit for choosing one or the other (STR vs CST), I'm assuming you can only be part of one? You can compete in one per race, but it's best to choose to compete in the same class for the year typically. As the year goes on more competitors meet each and often offer help in a myriad of w...

It's too late for this event, but for those in need of leaving early and arent afraid of showing up early. Working registration, early gate, tech, or course change over saturday night are a few options as well
