I`m not sure there are many left, but
My dear wife of 49 1/2 years lost her battle with cancer.
She ran a few events, and a couple of Lone Pine events in the VW

01 Porsche Carrera Cab.
Stack of receipts 2" thick of all the work done to this car. Exterior and interior in very good condition.
The bad....Rear window has yellowed, and it has 175,000 miles on it.
The good....Runs great, and because of the high miles, I`m selling it cheap.
$12,500.00

Re: Call for Stories/Info on the History of CSCC
I remember running at Dodger stadium, Orange Co fairgrounds, Terminal island, I don`t remember what it was called, but the lot across from Long beach airport.
Also, OCIR, but I don`t think they were SCCSCC events (bug-in maybe ?)

Re: Call for Stories/Info on the History of CSCC
I remember it well...... I was anouncing in Curly`s RV. Gail was driving the VW, and I saw the trail of oil mist coming from the rear end of the car. By looking at it, I knew the drain plug had come out of the sump. So, I had Gail RED FLAGGED ! She did what she was supposed to do, and came to a quic...

Havn`t been on lately, dealing with advanced stage 4 cancer with my wife, plus a few other issues...... Good to hear from you Larry ! Don`t have the VW anymore, replaced it with two black Porsches. I heard that the VW was stolen and stripped. (Some guys REALLY take Tech seriously) I would love to co...

Dick Gulstrand (Mr. Corvette)
I was thinking of his recent passing and it reminded me of when he was a guest speaker at the old SCCSCC seasons end banquet and trophy dinners.
I was the MoC, and so my wife and I had the pleasure of sitting at his table for dinner.
Great stories. Being MoC had it`s perks.

Re: Insane finish
That sounds like alot of fun..... I`m just getting the car back. The ring and pinion broke, and I had to find one (50 yr old parts are hard to find) finally found one 2500 miles away. After bringing buckets and buckets of money......it`s fixed. By the way, on the "Race" thing. I cant take ...

Re: Insane finish
Then it would be called a race. Years ago, we had an event @ Dodger stadium. There were two courses, a right and a left. Two runs on each with a combined time, lowest wins. It started with a fairly long (1/8 ? mi.) straight away, so it was a drag race to start. It was ALOT of fun. My VW pissed off a...

A note about Dave and Mary Barrish
Most of you don`t know me, but you do know Dave and his wife Mary. Just a note to say what kind of people they both are. I recently lost my Daughter-in-law (my son Matt`s wife) to a very rare cancer. She spent the last week and a half of her life at St. Bernadine Hospital. Thats the hospital that Ma...

Re: Plane lands at scca race
The times that I can remember were that the pilots saw the event and wanted to watch. I know one time for sure, because it was my Dad and Brother who came up to watch........ They first buzzed the site......We cleared the carb test run, and they landed on that portion of the strip. Gayle could remem...

I don`t know why I didn`t think of this before. Try calling Gary Emory. Both he and his brother worked at Chick Iversoan back then. He owns Porsche Parts Obsolete/Emory Motorsports @ 503-835-2300. I`m assuming that this is your 58 speedster now ? I`m in the 356 registry, we also have a website that ...

I don`t remember off the top of my head.... I might have some old San Diego results in the garage...I`ll look One thing tho Chick Iverson is and was in Newport Beach, not in L.A. If this guy worked at Iverson, I`m thinking that he would have run SCCSCC events, not San Diego events, it would have bee...
