Re: FS: SK2 92' Miata
I want the car too, but have place to put it now. We have 4 cars now, just dropped $2750 for tuition, and still need to buy books. Plus I don't have any time to Auto X with the end of cycling season coming up. I might see all of you in October at AutoClub. I will be spending September 25th and 26th ...

Re: FS: Car Trailer
Oh well, I guess I'm looking for an enclosed trailer to be honest. Since my '73 Datsun Z is unregistered, I need a place to hide the car (Datsun) instead of wasting garage space. My poor 350Z is stuck outside in the sun (draped with a car cover of course), and I would like to move it back into the g...

Re: WT Borrow/Rent Tow Vehicle
OK, I'll stop by on my ride tomorrow. I'm riding that direction tomorrow, down Irvine Blvd. so it's just off my route. BTW, I paid my dues for this year, but my points card number (312) says I'm on hold. I paid my annual dues in late-December or early-Janruary. Do you have any information as to why ...

Re: WT Borrow/Rent Tow Vehicle
I sent a PM to George to find out where to find my polo shirts. I want to pay for my shirts, and possibly pay to have them mailed. You guys are at El Toro tomorrow, I can come over there also. You can use my truck if you want for Nationals. If I hook up with SportsCar to write articles for Nationals...

Re: WT Borrow/Rent Tow Vehicle
I have an '87 Suburban with a 454. It's not pretty, but it works. Only 57,000 miles on it and it has the tow package. I won't be in town that weekend, but you can pick it up the weekend before.

Re: Safety Steward training session, December 5th!
Don't need to be an SSS to render aid or note an unsafe condition to people in charge. I think an SSS needs 2-3 years experience at least to understand the game and have the respect of other event officials. It rarely gets heated, but there is subtle push you have to deal with when clamping down. I...

Re: Safety Steward training session, December 5th!
Is this something open to New and Novice competitors? Dennis, I recommend you strike up a conversation with Brian Robertson about this. I don't see anything in the rule book (Page 243 of the 2009 Solo Rules) excluding novices, but I believe one of the qualifications is a "reasonable" amou...

Re: Safety Steward training session, December 5th!
I would like to attend. Is this something open to New and Novice competitors? Due to illness, I have been unable to run the last five months, but I want to get back into the flow of things before the start of the 2010 season. If I am allowed to join, I will be there.

Re: 2009 Solo National Championships, Sept 5th-11th
The absolute SOLE difference 2nd heat was that some first drivers got one dry run before Lincoln AirPark went underwater. Those that put down a clean first lap in the dry beat nearly a 100% of those that ran in the wet. Rain tires didn't matter. It was about when you ran and if you could seize the ...

It must have rained during SSM ... results seemed scrambled ? http://sololive.scca.com/SSM.html Mako, I've got the newspaper from Lincoln that shows the lake the West Course became. I'll bring it to the next event to show you. I was covering the 1st and 3rd runs, and the downpour started during the...

Congrats Ryan, on the C Stock win. 3 in a row now, all in different cars! Do you mind if I call you "Wonder Boy" (a la Jeff Gordon via Earnhardt Sr.) for the SportsCar article. Don't want offend. Congrats, or almost, to Isley in STX. Close race, unlike most of the other races I watched. Co...

CIMG1962 b.jpg Santiago Fire from 2007, at Portola and Lake Forrest. I've seen some very nasty fires here in So Cal in my 12 years. I was living near Griffith Park when they had that nasty fire that almost burned the Hollywood sign. Then while I had my office (practice) in San Diego County back in ...

Re: Chinese Food Costa Mesa/Irvine?
One of my former Times' bosses used to go to Chinatown and order without a menu. Chicken's feet and the like. Glad I never accompanied him. Ah yes, nothing like Dim Sum. I believe that chicken feet dish is called Phon Jau (writing it in phonetics). I like the Ha Fun (shrimp in rice noodles), Ow Fun...

Hey Katy, Sam Woo's is just a block away from where I live in Irvine: http://www.samwooirvine.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's one of those big traditional dining room places. If you're feeling brave, I prefer this small and slightly scary place in Fountain Valley,...

I'll be at Cal Speedway this weekend doing the Speed Ventures Autocross school. I can see when I'll be done on Sunday, but it is out of the way for me to drive from the Speedway to LA, and then back to the OC. I am possibly going to catch one of the Cubs games vs. the Dodgers the week of August 17th...

BTW, how much would that finder fee be?
How much would you like it to be?
We could start with private lessons, then work our way up to giving Isley the wrong date or directions to the next event.

Re: Interior plastic repair question
The plastic portion of the door panel of the S2000 has developed a crack about 2" long. Does anyone know if this is repairable, if a repair would last, or would it be better to just buy a new door panel? Any suggestions? Just make sure not use "Super Glue" (cyanoacrylate). It will me...
