Experience with the Kumho XS?

The XS seems like a good tire choice. They are cheap and came in 1st for the GRM tire test. I want to know if anyone has experience with this tire. How it responds, what you like about it and don't like about it. I have heard that they are rock hard when they are cold and that their sidewalls are ra...

Re: 3rd Gen RX7 parts for sale - Irvine

Do you have an R2? If so I would love to see it! :D

I would have been all over those stock shocks a few months ago but ended up getting coil overs.

You may try rx7club.com I bet you can get $200 easy for those shocks.

Have any other parts for sale?

Cracking down on street racing

The Chula Vista Police Department (and other parts of San Diego) recently received a grant to crack down on street racing. http://www.fox5sandiego.com/pages/landing_latest_news/?Cops-Crack-Down-On-Street-Racers=1&blockID=259725&feedID=2145" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fa...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Jamie- Your mods aren't that big of deal. If you car was stock legal, it probably wouldn't be that competitive anyway. And if it could be you'd probably need the lightest weight expensive wheels and fresh Hoosiers and a lightweight exhaust and uber shocks to be there. Then of course a non-streetabl...

I know nothing about photography but I think it looks great. I don't think it is too light but I think any lighter would be too much... but what do I know? The thing that pops out to me the most in that picture is the huge smile on my face :D What a great weekend!

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

My car is stock except for an intake, downpipe, coilovers and a mild street port/polish (which happens to put me in a class where I can't compete) It's funny hearing this from people (usually new people). No offense Jamie just making an observation to your comment but it's not stock (i.e. showroom ...

Class question... From the quick ref guide it looks like an engine swap from non-OEM manufacturer might land me in XP but I thought I'd confirm as I'm new to autocross and thought I might fall into CSP or a few more general cases. Re: PHOTOS Motorsport Z Event

The big concern is now that you feel more comfortable with your car, when are you going to come out again? It's all about seat time ... and if you take a break now, you might lose the confidence that you've built up. Of course you have the San Diego events to go to. Note that some of our more crazy...

Re: 24 Hours of LeMons Racers Wanted!

Jamie, I agree about the police and DEA auctions, but I worry that even if you paid under $500 for a nice car that would easily be worth more based on Kelly Blue Book value the race organizers might invoke the BSF rule (Bullshit Factor) for the intrinsic value of the car. If it looks too nice you c...

Re: 24 Hours of LeMons Racers Wanted!

I don't want to pull the rotary card here but I think an FC would be something to consider for the race. I know many people with over 300k on their N/A FC's stock engine. I almost got a pretty nice one last year with low mileage for around a gand. $500 for one would not be unbelievable. The big down...
