Re: 2011 El Toro Pro Solo 4/8-4/10

So I've spend the last hour trying to figure out what class I would register in to no avail. I read the rules: http://www.scca.org/documents/2011%20Tech/2011%20SCCA%20Solo%20Rules.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but this is confusing as all hell when you have a customize...

Re: Some open discussion on run formats

I see a little competitive spirit in that post...Watch out pretty soon it will SRSBZNSS! Actually, being just 4 seconds or so back from the car that some say single-handedly killed the "Boy Scout" class, B Prepared is pretty darn good. Thank you... There's a difference bet...

55.1
I already said Steve's car ran faster than mine.

Back on topic: any thoughts on the possible logistics of working extra in exchange for running extra?

And let me be the first to praise KJ and the rest of the folks doing the behind the scenes work for making things go as well as they do.

Re: Some open discussion on run formats

Thanks for the invites and for the mention of CST. I'll have to look up more info on the class as I didn't built my car to be legal for anythying in particular (wing extends past rear bumper etc). I know I need to come out and try it, I just feel like I have so much to learn as a driver that with th...

Re: Some open discussion on run formats

Good commentary. I really do appreciate the frank discussion. I should mention that I work as a mechanical engineer for Disney in the theme park world. Suffice it to say that we spend a lot of time thinking about queueing theory and anything we can do to increase our hourly ride capacity tends to im...

Some open discussion on run formats

Hi y'all, Joel Payne here. I'm the guy with the white v8 powered rx7. I'm still relatively new to autocross but I've come out to ~6 practice events now and wanted to start some dialog about the pros and cons of various run formats. Disclaimer: To date I've ONLY come out to practice days because this...

Man I've been waiting for the flyer to post for weeks now so I could mail a check. Finally decided something was wrong and went hunting for info. Y'all went and got fancy. Will this be the format for future registrations?

Looking forward to pics Mako...

With the widebody I jumped from about 8 seconds off FTD to only about 4 seconds off the pace (both numbers on street tires, albeit good ones for this time out).

Great day and tons of runs for all...

Re: CASOC EVENT - GREAT JOB!!

+1 for a great event. I'm learning slowly but surely. I thought I'd offer a little more detailed feedback for future reference: Awesome!!!! -The BBQ and extra ammenities definitely put it over the top. Great job on the grill. -I was also super thankful for tons of water on hand. -Definitely got some...

Re: 2009 FSAE West wrapup

Not exactly home built. I hear that the Austrian university spends a ton of money on its car. That was a question I asked everyone. For the teams I talked to it ranged from $6,000 (SDSU) to north of $50,000. If you've got a machining hook up I'd say you could build something very capable in the $10...

Re: 7/25 CASOC Summer Picnic - BBQ - Test n Tune El Toro

Do I need to send a check if I'm a standing member of CASOC and I have a $45 fsae credit? go to the casoc club boards and get your name on the list. Sorry, I'm still kinda new to this. Where are the CASOC boards? The forum listing on the clubs main page http://solo2.com/clubs.asp" onclick=&quo...

Re: 2009 FSAE West wrapup

I had a blast volunteering. Despite all the warnings that these were home built cars by students I was DAMN impressed. Carbon monocoque chassis with wheel speed sensors and launch control? Titanium control arms and cars that weighed less than my motorcylce? Yeah, clearly this was all amateur hour. ;...

Re: 7/25 CASOC Summer Picnic - BBQ - Test n Tune El Toro

Consider this my intent to show. Unfortunately I appear to be a bit late in spotting the flier... Do I need to send a check if I'm a standing member of CASOC and I have a $45 fsae credit? (Credit>Balance due)... If I haven't heard by the time I get home I'm mailing one regardless, but I thought I'd ...

Re: GRA 5/2 Practice Entry List

16 runs for my first day out. Could have had more if I hadn't spent some time playing with swaybars. By the end of the day enough folks had packed it in that I was seeing a lap about every 5 minutes. Great times even on street tires. If I had a request for next time (please note this is just a reque...

With rain on the forecast I'm assuming I'm better off just leaving my street tires on instead of switching to fairly well worn RA1s?

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Class question... From the quick ref guide it looks like an engine swap from non-OEM manufacturer might land me in XP but I thought I'd confirm as I'm new to autocross and thought I might fall into CSP or a few more general cases. Car: 1990 Mazda RX7 Heads/cam Chevy LS1 v8 engine swap\ Accusump Fact...
