Re: Which are illegal Pirelli's?

I'm the OP for this question last year...

Just wondering if anyone knows why the rulebook specifically excluded the P-Zero Corsa. It has a treadwear rating of 60, so it's automatically excluded from STR class anyway (like all R-Compound tires), so why does the rulebook specifically mention this tire?

Re: Wanted - Wheel Repair

Al Reed has been in the wheel repair refinishing business in SoCal longer than anybody I think. I've been going to him for 25 yrs. He's chromed wheels for Penske Indy Cars when they've come to Long Beach. He's the man for the Porsche Club of America, they send wheels to him from all over the country...

Re: 2011 AutoX Novice School OPEN for REGISTRATION!!!

I'm in!

I've done about a half dozen saturday practice days of SCCA solo, so I still consider myself a noob.

BTW, I know sunday is all track time, but on saturday, is there track time also, or is it classroom time mostly?

Re: Any good bodyshop near Chino Hills area?

I've used Craftsmen Autobody in Cerritos for over 25 years.

Tell them Dave Crandon sent ya. It's sort of sad, but I'm their best and longest term customer....

Re: How to sign up for Novice School

Ok, thanks for the link. That will help with my friends for the Street Survival School.

However, I'd like to take the Novice School the same weekend. I'm assuming this is an autocross Novice school for all, not just the women's school that's sometimes offered?

Thanks again.

How to sign up for Novice School

OK, so as a relative newbie, I'm a little confused with the Google calendar and such. I'd like to attend the 2 day autocross school at El Toro on Sat and Sun 7/15-7/16. But how do I sign up...is it a check sent to one of the local clubs, online signup, or what...? Also, the Street Survival thing...i...

Which are illegal Pirelli's?

OK, so I'm a newbie, running an 03 S2000. I'm running uncompetitively in the STR class because of mods I did just for the street, and don't have to bucks to convert yet to a competitive class. So, I'm just having fun right now! I was offered some street tires for a good price...some Pirelli P-Zero's...

WTB - 225/50-16, 245/45-16 R-Compound

Looking to buy a set of used r compounds for autocross practice and/or track days for my 03 S2000 on the stock wheels. Not picky about type.

Thanks

If it's still available, and he's thinking of parting it out, and he doesn't skip shift, I'd be interested in the gearbox.

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Thanks Robert. I think that's what happened to my front tires I had on the S2000. They were Goodyears best, Eagle F1 Asymetric, but after a few autocrosses and laps at Adams Kart track in Riverside, they lost a lot of grip, even though lots of tread left. Even me, with no experiece, could feel it. C...

Thanks guys. Sounds like good advice. Maybe I'll use the A048's for the road racing instead. I plan on attending Buttonwillow's class in late August.

Ok, I think this is the right place to post this even though I can't post it as a new question. I've been to about 6 events around Fontana, El Toro and Qualcomm. I want to say everybody I've met has been real nice. Thanks to all. OK, so what class would my car be in: About a year ago I bought a 2003...

Re: Anyway Possible to Run Out Of Run Group ...

That is a heck of a photo. It's got everything. Good resolution, sensation of speed, two cones down, oversteer with countersteer! Mako, is there anyway to get/buy copies of the photos of my runs? I was really slow in the last group, so I'm sure it wasn't hard to get a good shot! I feel like I was th...

Re: Changing tires at the track

Well, I'm not referring to their trailers in particular, just their products in general. I've bought lots of stuff from them, but all small stuff...tools, supplies, gadgets, etc. Much of their stuff is crap quality, but they do have very good prices. They also have a 20% off coupon everymonth in Car...

Art, I'd be very careful about what you buy from HarborFreight. While they have great prices, sometimes awesome prices, their quality can sometimes be lacking. Or even crap!

Well, it's about 9:45pm and the system is charging me an extra $50. I went ahead and paid thinking it could be fixed later. My registration of my car, etc. ...

Here's one more place in Orange County. Al Reed has been doing this in So Cal for about 30-40 yrs. Longer than anybody. The national porchse club guys send their wheels to him for repair. Penske used him for refinishing back in the 90's when they raced at the Long Beach Grand Prix. AL REED POLISHING...

Where is this novice school? How do I sign up? David there's a novice school coming up in June in the SD region... have you offered to pay for his entry? or asked if he'd like to come out to a practice day for ride-alongs (it's been 6 years, he might like it more riding along now that he can drive)?...
