Re: SCCA road racing - F-production Miata 1.6L
You failed to list a price.... By the way, Nice driving at the Runnoffs this year, that was one exciting race to watch. Oops - asking $25K with stock transmission. If you want one of the other transmissions, we can work on a price. Thanks on the Runoffs. It was an exciting race, more damage at the ...

Not sure if they do stainless, but they may be close to you. They did some work on my racing Miata. The owner raced Sprint cars - or Midgets, so he has racing sensitivity.

Re: Trimming Fiberglass Safety
Use a shop vac while cutting. +1 . Try holding the vac to catch the dust as it's coming off the tool/part. Helpful to have a 2nd set of hands for this. Blow yourself off with the air nozzle before letting the dust settle on you for too long. Blow your shirt from the inside out. As mentioned, cold w...

I would gladly like to take you up on that offer... Bobby, Do you still want the cooler. I dropped the ball a bit and didn't get back to you. After tripping over it a few weeks ago, I recalled this offer. I sent a PM on this site, but not sure if you received it. Anyways, the offer is still good, b...

Re: Porsche's LA Track! Thanks Pete L
That explains why the 30' high golfing statue next to the 405 has been dressed in a "Porsche Motorsports" racing suit and his club converted to a checkered flag. Makes sense now.
Maybe if I get some Porsche Boxster decals for my Miata they won't notice.

What are you allowed to do? I may have an exhaust* that eliminates the CAT. I also have a Racing Beat intake with cone filter. As I recall, the filter didn't fit my street Miata because of the cruise control. Parts are in Hermosa Beach. * Some items may not be legal for use on California public road...

street car mechanic in Encino?
I have a racer-friend that lives out of state who was looking for a mechanic in Encino for his sister with a '98 Accord that needs new brake lines. Anyone have a mechanic in the Encino area that they trust?
The car is currently at the dealership...
thanks,
Brian

some slightly better photos. I've had some interest...but no takers yet. I just bought a new transmission for my FP car, so some $ would be useful.

Re: (For Sale) 1990 Spec Miata 1.6L (or STL/ITA/FP)
Am curious, is this street legal? i.e. turn signals, headlights, wipers etc.... It could be street legal, some SM drivers drive their car to the track. Because of the exhaust that's on the car, it's not very neighborly. I do have another exhaust that is better. It doesn't currently have registratio...

Actually, that is not entirely true. When you created your NEW TOPIC (the listing) one of the tabs down below was/is entitled "Upload Attachment". Thank you. Looked around and didn't see that option. This is way cheaper than starting from scratch if you include the cost of the donor car, ...

Working on that now. If I rent my car out again, I will probably drive a Huffaker MG - same one I drove a few years ago. We'll seeJason Isley BS RX8 wrote:Whats next?

Re: Looking to be schooled on NA Miata
knock on wood, its held up for 220k miles and a season of 24hr races so I'm hoping it stays together. As pointed out, the 1.6 R & P is weaker than the 1.8 version. It is adequate for street driving. Problems start when you're bouncing off curbs and dropping wheels into the dirt. The shock from ...

SOLD - SOLD - SOLD I have a lonely Spec Miata that needs a new home. For the past few years I've been hoping to get it back on track, but it just isn't happening. Re: Spec Miata class?
Thanks for all of the responses. I do have some Hoosier slick/radials mounted up of 15" dia wheels, so it sounds like I could use them. The compound is probably harder than what is desirable for autocross, but if it's just to have fun, they should be good enough. I can remove the roof for autoc...

Spec Miata class?
I have a Spec Miata that I'm considering running in an autocross event. What class would it run in and what other cars are in that class?
How would old shaved Toyo RA-1's work? On the track it seems like they take some time to get up to temp and get sticky.
Thanks,
Brian

How about some Hoosier slicks? I have a set of (4) - 20.0 x 9.5" x 13 Hoosier C3000, R25B compound tires that I'm looking to get out of my way. These came on some 13"x7" wheels that I bought. Looks like that are approx half-way through their life - still gummy. I can take photos if an...

You going to the Runoffs now? Here are some 13x8, but the centers don't look like they would let the brakes cool very well: You know you want to order a set, these even clear 1.8 Miata brakes. No Runoffs for me this year - but if I were going, my car would be in your trailer! Those 13x8's are Keize...
