Re: Call for Stories/Info on the History of CSCC

And Orange County Fairgrounds (Costa Mesa), JungleLand, The City, Mile-Square, Pomona Fairgrounds, Irwindale, Dodger Stadium, who can forget Ontario Motor Speedway. Wouldn't surprise me if we haven't overlooked another dozen or more. Wasn't...

Plus Cypress College, Saddleback College, the Shelby parking lot, College of the Canyons, and Cal Poly Pomona. And of course Lion Country Safari (Verizon Amphitheater). All of those lots except Lion Country would not be SCCA legal these days due to size and obstacles.
Seriously? That is sad.

Re: Call for Stories/Info on the History of CSCC

I remember running at Dodger stadium, Orange Co fairgrounds, Terminal island, I don`t remember what it was called, but the lot across from Long beach airport. Also, OCIR, but I don`t think they were SCCSCC events (bug-in maybe ?) I have a vague recollection of the lot across from Long beach airport...

Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA

Hi Bill, I remember you name so there is that. The GRA guys from my time (1979 or so to 84 or so) ran Shafter. I went there 2 or 3 times with Grant Byers and Dick Takashima (R I P) and others. Re: Minter Airfield with Fresno SCCA

Hi all, I used to run with GRA at Minter / Shafter airfield back in the 80s with a group out of Bakersfield. As I recall they were a pretty fun events with lots of runs. Sucks that y'all couldn't get it to happen. However . . . Back then I was involved with an attempt to run on an airfield in SoCal ...

Re: Call for Stories/Info on the History of CSCC

I'd like to help but us old guys have memory issues..... I remember you Rick. Does that make me too young to tell some stories? Like one about John Ward :D Spill the beans Larry. Spilling – what an appropriate way to set this up, as John might recall. This would be the early 80s. I was drivi...

Where are they now?

Hi all, Old guy here. Was cruising around looking for some parts and ended up here. Left a smart azz message for Renee and was sad to hear about Craig. Craig & Renee were very helpful in getting me going in Solo 1, which got me road racing and off road racing . . . Saw some names I recognize, Joanne...
