Re: 1994 SpecMaita & Spares Package, 2014 NASA Region SoCal

Like anything else when you show up to all 12 races you have a higher chance of winning on points. Even taking that into account he does a pretty good job of keeping up. Wilson does a pretty good job of keeping up, but his budget doesn't allow him to spend the money on his motor that the top dog guy...

Last time I ordered Hankooks they were drop shipped from the MFG in Long Beach, maybe you'll get lucky like I did.

Re: Local Tire shop w/ RS3?

Tire Rack has exclusivity on Hankook RS3v2 so you're kinda outta luck.

Personally I wouldn't run those tires at SOW even if you did flip them.

Re: Suggestion to Limit FSAE Worker Rentals

Wouldn't it just be better to have whoever is doing worker reg to collect money for FSAE and coordinate with them? That way no one is playing telephone, and rental workers are immediately put in non important positions.

Lift enough to keep momentum without getting spin, and wait until the push goes away and slowly get back on it while straightening out the wheel.

Re: Wanted: 225/45/15 tires; RA1, BFG...

I'm running BFG R1S on a Bspec car, I couldn't tell you much about the tire aside from they have quite a bit more grip than Hankook RS3, BFG Rivals, and heatcycled Hoosier R6s. I've gotten about 7 heat cycles out of my R1S and there just about corded, but thats on a softly sprung camber challenged c...

Re: Where does a battery cut off switch go?

A typical battery cutoff switch should also cut the lead to the alternator, there should 2 big posts for the battery and 2 smaller posts for the alternator.

The diagram I posted above is another way to wire a kill switch if your really paranoid about a battery fire.

Re: To aero or not to aero...

always run aero if allowed. Its basically another means of activating more grip and if implemented properly could result in a significant reduction of lap times. Its also another variable to tuning so its another thing to screw up when setup wrong.

Re: Help needed: ? New Tires for HEAT use like the old RS-3

In Lemons/Chump the popular tires are the Dunlop Z2\BFG RIval\Falken RT615k\Hankook RS3 Running the Rt615k we can overheat them pretty easily but they do stand up pretty well as long as your not pushing them 11/10ths. I've run all of the tires on the list above and for the MIni I'd probably pick the...

My time was a 58.7 his was a 59.6

Re: IMovie quit. Now what?

Get another expert. If you're running the right version of osx there shouldn't be any reason the software won't run. Edit didn't see which version of OSX you're running. You'll probably have to upgrade to 10.9 to install Imovie 11, which if your machine is newer than 2008 it should be compatible. ht...

I'm with Ed, pulling the head is not that hard, and given the car needs a valve job at minimum, you could save yourself quite a bit of coin doing so.
