Re: March 2018 Practice & Event

Sunday run order, had to do more than usual adjusting beyond just rotating groups, so several classes are in new groups.

We normally would run at El Toro then, but they will not commit that far out at this time.

Re: First auto cross this weekend

Saturday's are designed to be an all day event. You usually run/work once in the morning and once in the afternoon, with a lunch break. Sunday, in our current format, is designed to end around 1pm for the competition runs (earlier if you are in the 1st or 3rd run group). Then if you choose to stay f...

Re: 2018 Event Statistics

Thanks for that, Anthony. Interesting numbers. Don't shoot me, but the next logical step would be to find what sections those DNFs came from. I'm only curious from an SSS point of view. The changes I made were first and foremost for worker safety. But I wouldn't mind plugging holes elsewhere just t...

Re: 2018 Event Statistics

The course workers had called into timing about cars coming straight at them coming out of the chi box. I was just talking to Eric about a fix when you were on your way to fix it. I did see the issue with at a couple of cars. Either not looking ahead, not remembering or too new to realize the import...

Thanks for all your hard work Anthony, I know what programming in MSR is like. Lots of power, but getting it to do what we want can be tricky sometimes.

I was actually volunteering to help with TNiA, not the autocross, but I'll go where I'm needed most. Don't want to leave Eric in a bind though.

Re: How to tell which group is running?

I believe we bought wireless speakers a couple years ago. Do those work? If we can extend the PA range another 150', it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. From my post on page 1 "We've tried wireless speakers and they were crap, nowhere near the claimed power. You really need something with a sma...

Couldn't hear the PA from the starter position on Saturday morning due to wind - just fyi. rechargeable air horn for indicating worker change over/check-in. wooo wooo. it's okay to blow sound just 5 small times a day right? https://www.amazon.com/Ecoblast-Rechargeable-Signal-Safety-Sports/dp/B009LN...

Re: How to tell which group is running?

I'd probably prefer an old school analog method. Autocross is my escape from technology, and because my phone hooks up to my car, I typically turn it off at events. A flag is very simple and only requires a glance towards the motorhome to answer the question. The only problem is making sure somebod...

Re: How to tell which group is running?

Since there is no break between run groups 2 and 3 it can appear to "blend" that might cause people to arrive late to work or grid to run. I can see it being a minor issue but would be nice to know while in paddock. I liked the PCA flag system when they remembered to change the flag colors. It woul...

Re: 2018 Event Statistics

From what I observed from up on the berm someone directing traffic a little at grid may have helped some. The third group seemed to have bunched up a bit much over by the multi-driver lanes while the ones closer to the paddock seemed empty. Also maybe color coordinating the cones to mark some of th...

Mega fun in a car! I haven't driven any local events, but have done several in North and South Carolina, including Charlotte Motor Speedway roval which uses 90% of the oval! Driven a number of road courses, but that was the first time on an oval, incredible experience. Do it!

Not to me, I've tried most of the others, prefer AXWare. Note that the hold-the-starts were not computer related, they were operator related.

Um, there's something wrong with the list, Anthony. I know for sure a number of people higher than 742 that have 2018 points cards, and it stops there for 2017, too.
