Re: ANSWERS TO NOTLD

gotcha thanks. I'm not an x-run fan either, but I can't believe a region as big as Cal Club doesn't have a test and tune right before Nationals for those that are going. I find it ironic that a club that has "practices" before events doesn't have one the month before Nationals.

Re: ANSWERS TO NOTLD

So, question. Why does CalClub hold NOTLD during the part of the year where the days are the longest, versus doing the event in say December? Sunset for NOTLD is 7:43pm but in dec it would have been 2 hours earlier. Just curious.

Never done anything like this, so I'm curious and kinda excited about it. Instead of slapping on more lights, can I just strap on a set of night vision goggles? :geek:

Re: Ekstrand loudly requests a date be fixed.

Yeah I saw the whole thing about averages, but if I was going to Nats and had to miss it, I'd rather take a drop than an average. Then again, I'm about as inconsistent as they come. I'll have to read the Supps one of these days, when my ADD and restless leg syndrome aren't as severe ;) Thanks Jayson.

Ahhh ok. Well, how about we make 8 events count and 4 drops this year to help appease the folks going to Nats?

really? Looking at the 2006 season, there were only 12 championship events, but the points with drops was 1000, meaning you only get 2 drops. Am I not seeing something?

Re: Ekstrand loudly requests a date be fixed.

I agree with Brian R. Even though the folks going to Nationals are some of the biggest contributors for the region, they are a minority, and Nationals does not affect them at all. To be fair to the entire membership, the show must go on, Nationals folks or not. Here is what I don't get: why on earth...

Re: Tickets to be audience for Top Gear show this sat

I think Ekstrand, Thomason and Isley would be a better team for the show. Which one wouldn't be the brutally honest one?!? No doubt, Gary can sugar coat it... The rest of us don't seem to have that skill. I dunno about Isley. He has a face for radio and a voice for print. Oh yeah, that's why ...

Co-drive/class filler for Wendover Pro

Anyone looking for a co-driver and/or class filler for the Wendover Pro? Lots of classes look very empty. Bump classes suck!

Re: Tickets to be audience for Top Gear show this sat

Well, I went to the taping last night, and I must say, it was better than I expected. Carolla is a pretty funny guy and is really witty on the fly. Tanner and Eric... ehhhh. They coulda done a lot better than those two. If anything sinks the program, it'll be those 2. Top Gear is like a FWD with Car...

the 1:30 is available but 4:00 is not. But I believe if you're there for the 1:30 that you can stay for the whole thing. Anyway, I registered.

Gary Thomason in Road and Track!

Fast driver + supercars (minus the Evo :P ) + El Toro ProSolo course = good read. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=31&article_id=6940 I think it was awesome that Road and Track included an autox section instead of just laptimes at a track. Even better that it's with one of the best...

Haha, sorry to go against the flow here in Socal, but I predict he will be beat by one of 2 drivers, and one of them drives an MR-S. In Ryan's defense, I think all 3 have similar levels of talent, but this time he's just outgunned.

Re: NOTLD memorial championship flyer up

For the issue of folks going to Nationals, how about using one of the "practice" days of a championship weekend as a 2 day championship event (like a Tour or Div?) I mean, NOTLD doesn't have a practice, so why can't one more? Back where I'm from, we had a 2 day event at the end of the year every yea...

Re: More El Toro Div Info, Attn everyone

It might as well be bare rims. There's no way the fronts would pass tech with all that nylon showing, and the rears bit the dust over a month ago, so I have dry rotted bicycle tires (seriously, they're 195 width!) on the back. It won't be good for fast times, but I would win style points with the dr...
