CST is our local catch-all class. Think of it as SM on road tires (140 or higher tread wear).
So long as your car is safe to drive, it's probably legal.

But National courses Never have optional slaloms, and everything is just practice for Nationals Is it bad that I agree with Mako? :) Having to remember which way to go on multiple slaloms is just needless annoyance. All slaloms used to be optional! I don't think I saw a pointer cone for the first 1...

Re: Toyota/Subaru RWD

I just have a genuine engineering question how it is that such a short engine does not seem to get you closer to 50/50, or for that matter slightly rear-biased, say 47/53. Maybe the engine is short, but not that light? the shorter engine means the CG of the engine is closer to the front axle if you...

Wow, I read that about 5 times and I'm still confused; that is the most complicated clasification method I have ever seen for anything. Looks like he could put at least 5 different class designations on his car. Why isn't there just a single class to fit each car? The handicaping seems like the old...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Thanks for the friendly response; I didn't expect to bump into one of the guys I talked to Sunday. That Elan would no doubt eat my lunch; in the old days, more often than not, an elan would take FTD, making our A and B prod vettes look silly. I guess I will try CST if my street tires,(Yoko A032 Rs)...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Steve, As the car sits now, it is legal for SCCA's D-Mod class, which allows your full racing slicks. This class is for anything that looks like a car with a motor under 2000cc, or a turbo motor under 1400cc. Auto engines only. The fast car nationally is a Lotus Elan with a 2000cc Cosworth. There is...
