Re: 10/23 AutoX Sunday Video/Photo Thread
Seb, very nice course design. Had me going to 1st gear on the tight right-hander before the fast section. Thanks for the compliment, I didn't mean for that turn to be so tight, I also thought the slalom would be a little faster. The slalom was supposed to be "civic Straight", I wanted to ...

Re: 10/23 AutoX Sunday Video/Photo Thread
Nice win, Max! I was having the same little oversteer moment (at 0:29 in your video) on a couple of my runs. Great result, Jayson...on the podium! Seb, very nice course design. Had me going to 1st gear on the tight right-hander before the fast section. My best effort of 55.2XXX (in X-runs, though. :...

A well-prepped, extremely quick car (well, at least when Michael's driving it!).
Should sell instantly, or sooner. Good luck, Michael!

Hey Mike,

You might talk to Mark DeShon. IIRC, he's a CNC machinist by trade. I'm not sure if his shop does one-off projects, but he could probably steer you in the right direction.

Re: Course previewing via video
keeping track of slalom paces will allow you to know what you can get away with speed wise IMO. For example when I drive the civic. 22 paces = steady speed slalom 23-24 paces = lift entry accelerate out slalom 25-more = flat entry, flat exit  keep in mind paces are like tire pressures... go ba...

Re: Course previewing via video
I think the biggest advantage to watching a video would be getting the cadence of inputs through a slalom, Chicago box, etc. So hard to tell on a course walk, so much easier to see in "real time" on video. you'd be surprised. If you count paces for every slalom you walk, within a year you...

Re: different way to a drive a slalom?
Nice explanation, Mark. You might think of it in road racing terms. "Backsiding" is like late apexing, where Mike's suggested alternative approach is an early apex. If you early apex a standard 90-degree turn on a track, you run out of road at exit. Similarly, early apexing a sla...

Bottled water's overrated. I tried it for a while, but kept having to add a little chromium for taste.

Re: Official Aug. 13 E-Board practice photo/video thread
Thanks, QV. I might try some from inside, and not have to worry about wind noise. With the transparent top, I've got a lot of latitude on where to postition the suction cup on the inside, and the Hero's got a mode to flip the video when camera is upside-down. Stock Vette exhaust is so quiet...it's n...

Thanks for the video, Jeff. Excellent quality on 1080p, and the frame size is workable.

Nice vids, Leonard! How'd you like the RX-8 compared to the Miata? Thanks, Doug! I was deliberating on whether or not to include the RX-8 lap, but I thought it a good comparison since I got almost the same time in both. Drove one at a ZoomZoom Live event, one on R-comps at an Evo School, a couple a...

Re: Greetings from a transplant / El Toro Question
Welcome to the Left Coast, or what I like to call the Pacific Southwest! It's pretty hard to supply a definitive answer, what with the dire state of the economy and the stop/start nature of Great Park progress. Others on the board no doubt follow this more closely. But even if it's only for a year o...
