Re: SCCA Solo Class Article/Discussion
Just a couple of "data points" to add, I have participated in the stock class arguements & how to get new members involved in Solo before & it's deja vu all over again (Yogi ism). They get more runs in the same amount of daylight by running one "line" at a time & tha...

Re: SCCA Solo Class Article/Discussion
Maybe the improving economy will help the stock classes? I'm assuming most newbies come at the stock or near-stock level. I'm also assuming and hoping the economy down there is finally improving! It is certainly doing pretty good up here! R Hi Reijo, I think it's mostly the opposite. Most noobs com...

Wow! What a race! It was like NASCAR with all those lead changes. Re: Is it better to use the clutch for quick 1st-2nd gearchanges
What the title says... Basically after blowing my transmission I talk to a few people about it and one of the things that I heard was that damping the clutch during a 1st-2nd gear change can be worse than just lifting off the throttle and changing 1st to 2nd. Does the above statement hold any water...

Re: Will these tires hold air (damaged bead)?
I am not a fan of the stuff, but if they start to leak you could always shoot some stop leak stuff in the valve. I bet that'll seal her up good.
Once you wear them out, you'll have to clean the mess off the inside of the rim.

Re: Corvette Brake Pads
I'll ask a question here. I have been using stock GM pads on my 2002 Z06. I have asked several people, and they said that for autocross, they work great. I used to drive my car on the street occasionally, but now I just seem to autocross it. Is there a better pad that I should be using? I guess I d...

Re: E46 M3 2004 engine issues
I think a lot of late model BMW's are going to be biting 2nd owners due to the 15000 mile OC interval recommended by mfg. Throw in "lifetime" automatic transmission fluid & you are holding a grenade with a pulled pin. Don't let go. Have you had any lab analyses done that indicate that...

Re: E46 M3 2004 engine issues
I would venture most buyers of new BMW's follow the skimpy "free" service schedule, which has gone from bad to worse since my wife's new 07 was purchased. Used to be you got at least one oc a year if the car's computer did not call for it. Now that's gone & it's per the computer or 15k...

Do a search for "M3 E46 bearing failure" and you'll have an entertaining evening of reading.... Well I was aware that the 2001-03 cars have to go through a recall but Dave's car is a 2004. On the other hand though after a quick research it seems that he is not the only one... }:) http://f...

Re: Pointers/Directional Cones
Tough to communicate with the workers, and if you do, good chance you have not just 1 red flag but a couple. Does a failure to point out the cone or communicate with the worker cancel out the rerun? I see problems with this requirement. I wasn't at the event, but this scenario happens all the time....

No expert here, but just some thoughts. Whatever it is in anti freeze that helps combat electrolysis I don't know. But basically isn't it the PH of the solution? You want the PH to be where none of the metals involved become "batteries". If that is the case you should be able to adjust the...

Re: $92 for 345/35/18 V710's ... wow
Anyone ever use these on a Vette? 5 lbs heavier, .4 inch taller, square shoulder & tread wear rating is almost 3x the rest of the 710 sizes (according to TR specs).
I think this tire was used on some Vipers, not sure if it'll fit c5/c6? I think it'll hit the tub on C5 anyway. Too bad, great deal.

Well, you have about 2 years until the next test ( how many miles is that?), so I would not worry about passing the next test yet. But for better performance/fuel economy, replacement of an old 02 sensor is always a good thing, especially with gas prices going up... If it is an original 136K mile s...
