Smart Phone mount for in car
There are so many of these, do you have one you really like. It should hold phone like iphone or android moto x & I guess it needs to be adjustable for some slight size variations and maybe the phone is in a protective case. The exact phone is motox in a trident cyclops case. Would mount inside ...

Re: race gas
Have you checked the pumps at the speedway? No. Where are they? Do I need any permissions to drive in the area or to buy? They are across from the garages, but I think they are only open if someone is using the track. And then not always. I have been there at Speed Ventures events & they were l...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!
I'm sure it's somewhere in the 350 pages of rules, but save me from scrolling thru the pdf.
If c5 z06 goes to AS where does that put it in Street Prepared? Currently it's SSP, but I guess that's only for 2013.
Thanks.

Re: May FasTrack
We should try to limit any more allowances than are needed. If you want to have a car that is more fun to drive and on street tires move onto street touring. These are my sentiments as well. Only problem is that not every car is allowed in the Street Touring category. I agree, I would rather the SE...

Re: May FasTrack
I.2.3 Core Values The decisions of the SEB are based upon three core values that together equate with member value. These core values are as follows: 1. Increased participation and involvement. 2. Providing a variety of classes to satisfy a range of economies and commitments. 3. Evolving rules in a...

Re: May FasTrack
My main point is, is it the mission of the SEB to attempt to equalize every car in every class in every way. My main point is that an attempt to equalize isn't what's happening. What they're trying to do is make stock cars not suck to drive, not equalize them. If it helps a given car too much, the ...

Re: May FasTrack
So basically, we're all lobbying for our own self interests: the SLA guys are saying "no fair" and the strut guys are saying "this is great." I guess we just count up which group has more members. I guess when it comes down to it, I don't really care if the people with SLA setup...

Re: May FasTrack
.... the SEB is "picking winners and losers" with rules. I don't think it's the point of the SEB to "dumb down" or try and "equalize" different design cars. Consider that cars that benefit too much could be re-classed up or cars that become uncompetitive can be re-clas...

Re: May FasTrack
My thoughts: I think additional allowances of any kind in the entry level category should be discouraged, but if you are going to allow changes to alignment beyond factory methods, it should be allowed for all cars regardless of suspension configuration. I agree, otherwise the SEB is "picking ...

Home security camera systems DIY
I got a really good recommendation a couple of years ago re: home ALARM system. Simon XT, it's been very trouble free, actually 100% trouble free. Just today I had to replace one sensor 2032 battery. Need to put some cameras up. Some guy walked into the garage & started to go thru the wife's (un...

Re: Nov 4th Video
Just turn it on. Note that it's a lower compression, higher quality, low contrast setting that is designed to be optimized with adjustments to contrast and color saturation after shooting. You can use the free GoPro CineForm software to do that. Using the default Cineform ProTune Look Preset will n...

Re: Nov 4th Video
If you are using a GoPro2 ... you can upgrade your firmware to the latest one, which includes the ProTune Option. This will give you a lower contrast file ... perfect for our typically contrasty lighting, views through windshields and/or late afternoon sun in the picture situations. Go to GoPro Sup...

Re: catalytic Converters
Depends where you live, but I just had a really hard time getting a stock c5z passed. By hard time I mean the tech spent (no exaggeration) 30 min on the visual ck. My car is low & he used a mirror/light on both sides of the car to inspect the (stock) cats. He said the PCV was missing (in 04 they...

Re: IS300 shocks & springs & sways
I wouldn't get any of those coil overs for a street car. koni's or bilsteins would do just fine, and available from tire rack. +1. The Bilstein's supple high-speed valving will ride better and last longer, but the Koni's adjustability allows you to crank up the stiffness if needed, IMO. Thanks that...
