Re: Drones at events

Some interesting info from Paul Durr, a karter from Vegas: "FAA has gone nuts and issued an interpretation on model aircraft use that essentially treats them as full sized aircraft and regulates them as soon as they leave the ground. A public comment period is in affect. http://www.modelaircra...

Re: July 19-20, 2014 El Toro Photos & Videos

Loved the course. Great fun! Me, too.. but I didn't care for the practice format. My run group assignment was 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, 3 runs, wait 50 minutes, then work. What is your preferred format? to start, I know the job of planning and runnin...

Re: July 18-19 Course Setup/Changeover

MEET AT 6AM TOMORROW- EL TORO COURSE SETUP Do Not Arrive at EL Toro today. The runways are in use and we are not allowed in without consent. Wait. What? If course walks start at 7:00a and close at 8:15a, that leaves only 1 hour for course setup. Is that correct? If so, then the course must be eithe...

Re: The July Events Are Now Open for Registration

that may work but they have changed it from what you see on the maps. trabuco has been extended to the runways. at the end you will see signs for a right turn to the ballon etc. you want to go through the barrier across the intersection it should be open then just follow the runway untill you see o...

Re: The July Events Are Now Open for Registration

FYI - I was just told that Marine Way is now closed as an entrance to the old airbase. if true, what's the best way in now? Trabuco to runway? or C Street? Is there a runway entrance from Trabuco or C Street?

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Brilliant. So I would be ranked against everyone in S2 (CS, DS & ES); but each car would have a PAX index applied to it that depends on the car class (i.e. an ES car with a slower time would be adjusted higher). Individual model of car does not change your PAX index right, just the car class? L...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Hmm... I think of it as car classes (SS, AS, BS, CS, etc.) and competition classes (PAX, S1, S2, S3, etc.)... sometimes the two overlap. SCCA sets up the car classes and the region sets up competition classes where drivers of cars compete in either a single car class or multiple car classes (through...

What Las Vegas track is that? Infield at the speedway? How much were those laps? I've instructed the Imagine Lifestyle events. They've been getting tighter and slower :-( Exotics Racing (ER) started using the infield at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS), but the scheduling was limited due to even...

I've been out to the Exotics Racing facility in Las Vegas 5 times over the last 3 years (7 sessions with 6 different cars). I think it is quite fun and I'm eager to try their track at ACS. Here's my latest trip in the Aventador from Sept 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FQIRkg12wE" onclick=...
