I hate it too. Car plows and limited dynamic range. They set the rules so anyone can compete at work.

GT5 Lap Time Request

I have a competition at work coming up, doing a time trial qualifier and head to head racing using Gran Turismo 5 at work. I hardly play games anymore and borrowed my brother's system. I wanted to benchmark to see what other people's laptimes are to see how much more I need to pick up. Can anyone po...

Re: Are any locals a Hyundai or Ford sales rep?

George, I totally agree that the Elantra is a very ascetically pleasing car inside and out, as with almost all of the new Hyundai/Kias. Here's a consumer watchdog complaint on the Elantra. http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/newsrelease/consumer-watchdog-urges-epa-re-test-elantra-40-mpg-claim-hold-hyund...

Re: Are any locals a Hyundai or Ford sales rep?

Just FYI Mike, the Elantra (auto) has alot of fuel economy complaints. The vehicle has poor gradeability so it can't hold 6th gear well.

Re: Canadian GP

It was an awesome race. I was in grand stand 24 at the hair pin.

Boy was it rainny and cold! But the racing was awesome. I was rooting for Kobayashi and LRGP who I was attending with an engineer who works there.

I thought Vettel had it until Button comes storming through.

Re: Tesla Race Car

I only got to drive a Tesla for about an hour on city streets, I would imagine it would be very difficult to drive in an autocross. Its a relatively heavy car. In the video you can see the effort he puts to turn the vehicle. Here's a video of a electric car race (crash): http://www.youtube.com/watch...

There's also Toyotafest tomorrow. I'll most likely be going to this one.

Re: Who uses a traqmate for autox

In Drive Mode you do not need to set a start or finish location in the hardware (at the track). When you start Drive Mode it continuously records data until you hit the stop button. You later set the start finish locations inside Traqview. I open the data file, set my start and finish lines, then op...

Re: Who uses a traqmate for autox

I also run a traqmate. I tried the autox mode a few years ago and didn't like it. I believe they made improvements, but never re-evaluated. I just run it in Drive Mode for autox. You can set the start and finish lines later like how Jeff describes. Start and finish times are based on location. I usu...

I just read your post again and you mentioned the clanking while turning. This is a common sign of broken axle joints.

Re: Need Advice-Crazy Vibration with throttle applied (on my DD)

Looks like you have an electrical problem.... But seriously, it appears the axle area is the root cause or just part of the problem. The broken boot could just put the assembly out of balance, or the whole axle joint could also be broken. There is probably an Audi rotational play range that is accep...
