The 1999 Mazda shows a factory weight of 2299lbs and 14@6,500 rpm 16.4 lbs/hp.
The 2002 Mazda Miata shows a factory weight of 2447 and 142@7,000 rpm. 17.2 lbs/hp.

I am sure options matter, I have to believe the greatest differences are driver.

It isn't a volunteer gig. Yep understand it's a paid position, but without experience teaching novice or above, I wouldn't even the guts to throw my name on the sign up list, is what I meant. One I doubt I would have been accepted, but more importantly I wouldn't want to short change a paying custo...

Looks like fun, but at 265lbs I would just be a lap dog in equally prepared cars. That whole horsepower to weight ratio thing rears its ugly head with go karts.

I would check the fuel injectors. Do a pressure hold test to see if one of them is leaking.
Injectors are new, matched set.

Well I feel better about the CATS. Have replaced the O2 sensor and EGR valve. Car runs fine, the check engine light doesn't seem to mean anything I can find.

The problem with the headers is there is no one who makes Cal legal.
