And she did do well.

44 boxes in total, pushing her out in front of the troop.

Sally says Thank you everyone!

If anyone needs refills I can bring them to El Toro next month.

Reminders, coming out tomorrow.

I think I forgot to mention they're $5/box.

Also, if you're a Girl Scout cookie connoisseur, her troop gets cookies from the ABC baker.

COOKIES, Feb 5 event!

We scored last year quite well at the AutoX, so she's been bugging me for the last two weeks, "When's your race, when's your race, WHENS YOUR RACE!" So, this Sunday (Feb 8) my daughter will be setting up a mini booth near registration to sell her girl scout cookies. I think she's only goin...

Re: When is it time to water cool tires

If they are too hot too touch, they need to be watered. If they're too hot to touch, you've already missed your window. I think it was said, but over heated tires feel 'greasey' and can lead to blistering. This usually leads to significantly slower times, but I've heard one expet driver say his 'gr...

Re: Gauging Interest - Safety Steward School

Mike Eguina and I would be interested. But, we're both locked into a Mar 15th RallyX and I have a 50% chance of a 2/28 conflict. Any reason Saturday was picked one weekend and Sunday the other? (3/1 and 3/14 would be my better schedule). In summary, I voted once 2/28 for Mike, and I'm interested but...

Re: WTB : 225/45/15 tires

Variety in this size is far and few between now. You might want to e-mail Tire Rack and see if they have any BFGs laying around. I put some on back order months ago, then a few weeks ago the size fell off TireRack's website, but the tires showed up the same day.

Re: Wheel Width v. Tire Question

Man that sounds low. We haven't ran kooks in a while, but we found them to have relitivly soft sidewalls and it took quite a bit more pressure to keep the stock WRX from rolling over. High 30s at least. The virtue of soft sidewalls is a much nicer highway ride. Definitely not going to be your cure a...

Re: Tips to flatten magnetic numbers?

For 'creesed' magnets in between events I've put them in between my box springs and mattress. If they're just curling, then store them on something steel and flat. Washer/Dryer, file cabinet. Water heater kind works (but is curved). For race day: Direct sun tends to heat up faster than heaters and m...

Yea geek squad.

I was there at the computer for my work assignement and it defeintly didn't sound good at 8:50am.

Note the re-run problems we did have starting the morning group had nothing to do with the new hardware.

I've had a similar problem coming from the converting software. I switch something within the software (like format or the like) and it went away.

Sorry I don't remember the details, but I suggest messing around with that first.

I know SCNAX II (two) exceeded ten teams, going out on a limb here... but this may be the most SCNAX teams ever! I thought I remembered 10 teams at SCNAX II, but I happen to have the scoring file and it shows 9 (maybe we lost one along the way). BTW, this was 2003. I seem to have a smattering of re...

Re: Shifting an automatic transmission into neutral

Benifit can depend on the technology of the transmission as well. Some of my cars would drop to near idle under costing 'in gear', some would keep the revs going but use nearly no fuel. I was shocked when my minivan actually downshifted and induced significant engine braking. I thought that was neat...

Tolerating wheelspin

Hey FWD guys:

What driving-wise do you do about open diff wheel spin? Floor it and let dynamic friction take its course, or feather to minimize the spin?

Its going to be a while before I can make hardware changes.

Where does a battery cut off switch go?

I know, sounds like a dumb question for an electrical engineer. But when I though about it, as a safety switch, interrupting the battery circuit doesn't seem to do much. It probably won't stop the engine, which keeps the alternator running, which will keep the full and ignition going. What to the va...
