Re: CST Tire Treadwear Rules Change

I would second Bob's request to update the tire rating to 100. In my case Toyo RA1's. Being able to run the tires that I will be using on my refreshed NASA spec BMW lets me have seat time at an autocross on the combination that I will be driving on the track. This combination will not be as fast as...

Re: CST Tire Treadwear Rules Change

I see no reason to not allow this, it's a run what you brung class. If they can drive the car "legally" on the streets then why restrict them to a specific treadware. Like Jon mentioned, the current crop of "street legal slicks" don't work nearly as well at autox temperatures as ...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Hello, This is my first event. I'm not sure if it's open to novice drivers, but I'm looking to attend and register for the weekend of July 21/22 at El Toro. I need help in figuring out what class my car would fall under if I am able to attend. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I would ...

Re: Greetings and questions from a newcomer.

The class rulings are a bit overwhelming for me. As I disect it I think I will be in CSP class as I have the following: Koyorad radiators Cold air intake with OEM MAF JR headers Goodwin exhaust with cats FM Coilovers with upgraded front sway bars 15x7 TW200 Front lip/air dam At the end of the day I...

Re: Greetings and questions from a newcomer.

All, Thanks for all the quick replies, such a supportive group. Trying my best to get approval for the Sunday event and definitely be there for Saturday as I see my name on the list. Not to over complicate the classification, I’v read the SCCA rule book and am unable to differentiate Street Touring...

Re: Greetings and questions from a newcomer.

Hi Randy, Just registered for the May 5 practice as I am unsure if I can make Sunday. Registration didn’t ask for the car classification, is it because it’s just practice ? Thanks. Yes, on a practice day we don't keep track of what you are driving. No need to worry about numbers or class lettering....

Re: Rules Proposal - Octane

But the seb said there was no advantage to 100 octane, right? I think people just want more of a safety margin against knock in the summers. ^fake news. at no point has the SEB's claim been that 100 octane is of no advantage. the claim is that performance gained from using expensive race fuel repre...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

Hello. I'm new to this forum and autocross. I pre-registered for the 14-15 Apr practice and Championship event, and I'm really looking forward to it. I had a question about what vehicle class I should have selected during registration. I will be driving a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. On the '8 Easy Steps' p...

Re: X-ray wheels for damage

X-ray is probably not the right tool for that job. Unless the part is thin or the crack is large enough to extend all the way through the part, the x-ray is just going to pick up all the metal behind any cracks that may exist and show you a solid part. Even a Doctor can't see a fine crack in a bone...

Re: Whoo Hoo! The PRO Solo is Here!

The extra $50 for Evo school is a bit much at the moment and I'm not sure how much of Friday I can attend. I was a bit hesitant to even do this at $130. Practice runs are $20 For 4 and are recommended. The hole shot school is a good value. Maybe find a friend to co drive and in return for a ride an...
