Re: New to it all, question about car prep on NB

if anyone could suggest some little things to check for considering the car has 140k on it. If you don't know the history of the timing belt, water pump and clutch, set aside a little budget for it. Shocks too. If they're original OE, they're marshmellows. After you get some good seat time in, upgr...

Re: Shop to fix my race brakes

The shop I used seemed to get it figured out pretty quickly. They told me they just snugged everything up. I was tightening things up, but it started to get that "stripping" feeling. Mike E brought up a good point that what I was feeling was probably the copper compressing. They bled and i...

Re: Shop to fix my race brakes

Have you tried flare savers (copper flare washers) if tightening it just doesn't work? Mesa hose has them in most sizes. Are these for flares or for AN fittings (Bill mentioned over the weekend). I've yet to have an AN problem, but I haven't exactly put a lot of pressure on the system yet either. I...

Need a lyft- San Diego to H.B. Friday

Anyone attending the Match Tour Friday festivities and driving home past Huntington Beach?

I'd like to avoid driving the ES Miata back and forth if I can.

I live pretty close to the 405, and hear I'm great company!

Shop to fix my race brakes

I give up. After several attempts my ground up custom brake kit for the RallyMiata is leaking less, but leaking still. I need a shop who can fix the several leaky spots, mostly flare connections. Might need to remake a few lines. And will need a proper bleed since apparently I'm too impatient to do ...

Last year, we used to get E85 at the location listed below: 16990 Beach Blvd Huntington Beach, CA 92647 It is not a trailer friendly location, so keep that in mind. We will filled up there plenty of times last year with our reader consistently reading between 81-84. Here's an identical G&M stat...

LA Car Connection is hosting their annual Big Willow day to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF). The day looked pretty casual with lots of track time. Jay, I haven't done rallycross in a long time and so I forget, can people co-drive a car and how does that work? Is it like autocross with a multidriver grid section? Yep, with a couple caveats. 1.) Regionally, we require you to constantly swap drivers (regional solo lets 2-driver's run in what eve...

Is registration/entry on a first-come, first-served basis? I signed up and registered in late February, so I'm assuming that most of the slots filled up already by then, unless entry is based on seniority or experience. BTW, this is a particularly high demand practice for several reasons. 1.) we ha...
