Re: Hotel and Flight Info for Nationals

Here's my flight info: James Yom arriving 9/11 11:50am Southwest Airlines departing 9/18 6:05pm U.S. Air For Morgan, you're best off posting on the sccaforums.com site in the Pro-solo section. I think the problem is that he is coming in pretty late. Maybe someone coming from the east that evening ca...

Re: Committee Meeting Minutes - August, 2008 : POSTED

Don't know if this makes any difference, but my last name was misspelled in the minutes - should be Cachola, not Cochola. Loenard Coachella. Got it. Lenny "Chicken Legs" Cacciatori Now that you mention it, he reminds me of an Asian version of Lenny from the Simpsons! hahaha. We just need ...

Re: 8/16 Results Posted

James only took 2 runs in SK1 (3 if you count the rerun) in the first session, so that's all he gets scored on. Then later in the 4th group, he had switched to different tires and ran with AS. But you are not allowed to run competition in more that one class so I made the last two runs into X-runs....

Re: 2008 Solo National Championship, Sept 16-19

It's funny, the majority of AS is in the wrong car (00-07 S2000), me being one. The GXP is definitely the car to have. The GXP is arguably the most purpose built autox car out there, the MS-R being the other. Too bad the feedback is about as numb as a prostitute's... emotions, and it has about as mu...

I thought they aren't legal only until Nationals. After Nationals, they are legal, no?

Re: From the NOTLD Event Chair

I would LOVE to have been that fast but those times are wrong. Sorry for all the confusion folks. I ran my first 2 runs of the night on street tires during heat 2 for class points, and then my other 2 runs in heat 4 on Hosers to begin getting myself acclimated to R-comps (for Nationals). It was appr...

Re: Airfare Alert for Nationals

I just hope they're not bankrupt when Nationals rolls around :? I hope you bought your tickets on a credit card... I flew on them last year to Nats. The whole airplane (the one I was on) was configured for all business class seats. Very painless flight. I dunno how much it cost (It was free for me)....

Re: Where to get race alignment?

Ummm yeah.... I can't help but think by the tone of many of the post you all think Yom is a newbie. He may appear to drive like @ss and be new to the area, but he has been around for a long time and is one of the top drivers in the country. He was asking for a shop referral because he is new to the...

Wow, I can't believe it... someone made a sticky street tire that's wider than a 225 for 16 inch wheels? My prayers have been answered!!! Now maybe the rear end of my car will actually follow the front end for once... Sorry James, that ain't going to fix your problem. It's an easy fix if you stop d...

Re: Where to get race alignment?

Thanks guys. The reason I was specific about race alignments is that there are certain things you need to do to maximize the alignment that most tire shops won't even bother with, and if you ask, they refuse. I've also had shops refuse to let the car go with different cambers (one side will have mor...

Where to get race alignment?

Wondering where you all get your race alignments done, what kind of equipment is it (LED/light wave or other), how much you paid, and contact info. Note that I said race alignment and not just some tire place that does alignments. I need a very specific alignment that those tire places don't have th...

Re: ANSWERS TO NOTLD

gotcha thanks. I'm not an x-run fan either, but I can't believe a region as big as Cal Club doesn't have a test and tune right before Nationals for those that are going. I find it ironic that a club that has "practices" before events doesn't have one the month before Nationals.

Re: ANSWERS TO NOTLD

So, question. Why does CalClub hold NOTLD during the part of the year where the days are the longest, versus doing the event in say December? Sunset for NOTLD is 7:43pm but in dec it would have been 2 hours earlier. Just curious.

Re: Ekstrand loudly requests a date be fixed.

Yeah I saw the whole thing about averages, but if I was going to Nats and had to miss it, I'd rather take a drop than an average. Then again, I'm about as inconsistent as they come. I'll have to read the Supps one of these days, when my ADD and restless leg syndrome aren't as severe ;) Thanks Jayson.

really? Looking at the 2006 season, there were only 12 championship events, but the points with drops was 1000, meaning you only get 2 drops. Am I not seeing something?

Re: Ekstrand loudly requests a date be fixed.

I agree with Brian R. Even though the folks going to Nationals are some of the biggest contributors for the region, they are a minority, and Nationals does not affect them at all. To be fair to the entire membership, the show must go on, Nationals folks or not. Here is what I don't get: why on earth...
