Re: May FasTrack

KJ, I believe the exhaust suggestion was related to ST* cars and then also submitted to the SAC to close the loop. Bobby, I hear you on the wording. We struggled with that one, a bit. In certain instances, the easy button might be a central exit, below the bumper and extending beyond the body's peri...

Re: May FasTrack

First, I should mention that I'm personally interested in what you SoCal folks are thinking about this proposal, both due to the good contingent of stock class drivers and also from the history with SK. The primary driver for the proposed camber allowances is to allow McStrut cars more static camber...

Re: Orange County Great Park

Thanks. I will see if I can rally the other couple of CM cars in SFR to come along :) That would be great Mike. Come on down! Are you planning on going to St George in May? Not sure about St. George. Not sure about the Match Tour format. I don't buy PAX and that's a long way to tow to be subject to...

Orange County Great Park

Hi- First question: when did El Toro become "Orange County Great Park"? (not that it really matters) Second: Is there any issue with entry or other for a visiting SCCA Soloist to come down and run with Cal Club at El Toro? Any weekends better than others? Can a visitor run both the practic...

Re: Can A Slightly Flat Spotted Tire be Re-Balanced ?

I'd think you could get it to balance out, but if it is bad enough to really feel, it is going to end up locking up prematurely (assuming non-ABS Miata) and become worse. Put it on the back of the car, obviously!

SOLD 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder EXCELLENT SOLD

Decided to sell the MR2 Spyder I bought from Doug Kott. Many of you know the car, it is a really sweet Spyder, excellent condition and part way to STR. Low miles, no excuses, just a great example. Car is located in SF Bay area. If you respond via CL ad, let me know you were directed from this site.....

Re: Interested in a SD Tour RTF Co-drive?

Des Toups used his reg info from another event, so it says "CR-Z"...he actually is co-driving with Stephen Hui in an S2000. So, no help there.

Kurt, I should have taken you up on your offer...I suck in Elises and it would have been nice to fill in RTF a little more :(

More likely there is a variation in policy/training/quality of employees at different stores. My problems were at the San Diego North County store.
Or it might be directly a factor of how many broken tools found at garage sales have been dumped on them...

Re: Not Just SUV's ... Fiat 500 Also

I think what you're saying is right, about the need to manage the message to the public. Unfortunately, we can't see the data we need any longer, as a result. You think relying entirely on the assimilated roll over risk % works? You might be surprised at some of the cars that pass/fail the proposed...

Re: Not Just SUV's ... Fiat 500 Also

I don't have a bone in the great stock class tire debate. I really don't have any interest in "stock". But it seems to me that the best argument the street tire religion folks can make is that the future of automobiles is the B-Specs. We're going to start looking more like Europe with $6 ...

The above quote from NHTSA addresses why SSF actually may have greater utility for our usage...particularly the part I've highlighted...we need a basic mathematical expression of the physics, not a probability based on changeable factors, to baseline what is reasonable for Solo and what is not, imh...

Nope. But, the Abarth also has average track width less than height, so ex new data, it can't currently be classed :(

SD Tour co-drive wanted

It is unlikely I can get my car down to SD this year for the Tour, due to business stuff.

I'd still love to go, as it is such a fun event. Anyone looking for a co-driver? I'm open to anything that is competitive in class...ST*, stock, SP, you name it.

Thanks
