Re: 09 Tour San Diego Hotels
Four Points Sheraton still has rooms for $70/night. I guess it is only 3 miles from the site, based on what they told me??

Re: RV parking near El Toro
Tom, when we stayed down there for the Pro, we stayed at the Trabuco Canyon County Park's campground. It was reasonable, fairly quiet, level sites, "park like" and had water/electricity. Actually, a number of autocrossers stay out there...Hollis, Goeke, McKee and others. Some Walmarts in m...

Re: San Diego Hotels
When I brought my RV down to SD in 2007, half the fun was staying in the paddock area and having a place to hang out with friends during the day, bbq'ing at night etc. The only downside was the light rail noise, but that wasn't too bad. And, it cost exactly zero...why the heck you going to pay to st...

If it is at Wendover, count me in. I don't know why you guys are so excited about El Toro, so much so as to want a second Pro there...place chews up tires and smells like a landfill... JK, it is a great site for course designers to play with and has lots of (very abrasive) grip. ^ I agree...Jason doesn't know shxt... :P Seriously, Packwood is a blast, if you are at all an outdoor oriented person. My wife and I spent a day on Ranier, last summer, hiking and followed by a great lunch at the National Park lodge, and it was way cool. There's tons to do around the area, as long ...

Re: Norcal Alameda Pro Canceled
All I can tell you is there are a LOT of moving pieces in this story...some would argue too many.
It is a bummer, no matter to what you attribute the cancellation.

Re: Jan 24-25 Practice Event Thread
Maybe the GGF analogy was a little extreme, I was just surprised that the surface was the way it was, I was thinking it was going to be grippier and less gravelly...it is very true that it is not old and degrading like GGF. Is the outside lot better? I've driven GGF, Fontana isn't anything like that...

Mike ... have you run on our usual Green Lot (ex Lot 12)? That's were almost all of our events are ... if we're not running at El Toro. Green Lot is awesome, in size ... with a nice bit of elevation change ... but a little on the low grip side. We are blessed with that lot! Speed Ventures does occa...

Re: Jan 24-25 Practice Event Thread
Have you guys run much on that infield location? While I liked what was done with the space/course design and had a blast, I can best describe the surface as "Golden Gate Fields-South"...we had, basically, zero forward bite on acceleration and the large, exposed aggregate and gravel build ...

Thanks for the info, guys. I hope to run SD/El Toro, but probably won't if FS doesn't make a class. Anyone running FS this year? Re: Jan 24-25 Practice Event Thread
I'm looking forward to running with Cal Club this weekend at the practice event. Hopefully, it won't rain too much, as that will kind of mess up our plans. Does the site drain ok? Actually, while I'm asking questions, I have two more, if anyone can help me out: 1. I'm staying at the Hyatt Place (hey...
