Re: Not Just SUV's ... Fiat 500 Also

SCCA's roll over criteria is outdated. John, it is more a matter of the data no longer being available. The previously accepted SSF calculation which served for years is no longer given. Calculating wouldn't be a problem, except the needed data is limited and conflicting (depending on source). So, ...

Re: Tired of being penalized for being a single driver car!

NorCal troll alert  You guys have two fundamental issues: "X runs" should not be allowed in the same run group as competition runs. Two driver cars, by National supps, require driver switch between runs. ...now back to your regular programming...and, No, nobody asked my opinion... ;)

Re: El Toro

It is great to hear that El Toro should be around for a couple/few more years...good sites, in CA at least, are hard to come by! But, that time will go by quickly and (I think, anyhow) we all (CA autocrossers) need to think about the long term plan to ensure quality autocross in our state. Between t...

Re: El Toro

According to the Orange County Register, they broke ground for the first homes within the "Park" area on January 31, 2012 with homes expected to be occupied in early 2013. The first phase looks like it is off of Irvine Blvd and north of the runways. This looks to be less than a mile from ...

Re: Sold***Sold***Sold*** 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder

If anyone has interest, this car could be for sale again. Same price, but I'll add a set of custom ProParts built Koni DA's to the equation. Fantastic car and could be a real player in STR, but my purchase of a CM car has led to my losing interest in STR and make it more sensible to send this nearly...

Re: Is there a potential new 2012 great STR car?

I agree with Jayson, we should see more MR2 Spyders in STR. I know of a couple that are being built and the results are encouraging. When it comes to street tires, light is right! Matter of fact, if anyone wants to give it a try with a fantastic car that already has some of the hard parts, mine coul...

Re: Fortune Auto Coilovers???

It really depends on how serious you want to be, what your aspirations/expectations are, and how much you want to spend. Back when I had my MR2 (Mike Wood's car now), I had a set of BC Racing coilovers (Japanese-made, I think) that I bought for about $1000 total that worked wonderfully with 6K spri...

If I use the ST* ECU ruling as an indicator of the direction of "ST", it makes me less interested in playing there. I wrote my letter, so I must have been in the minority or outside the agenda.

Re: Looking for CM car

Pretty car, but I'm interested in the '84-'94 era with inboard suspension. Thanks for posting. The price seems pretty reasonable for a Merlyn, as IIRC they have a really good following in vintage racing and a solid reputation. I wonder if it is because the 29/31 cars are kind of "tweeners"...

Re: Looking for CM car

Yeah...I'd expect it is gone.

There's another Swift for sale up here that looks ok, but the guy wants all the money ($17.7k)...which is probably why it has been for sale since June.

Re: Looking for CM car

Thanks, Jason. I left Jim a voicemail, we'll see what happens...I'd be all OVER that car. Doug, I still have Mr.Two. Actually found a set of DA Konis built by ProParts that I'll be installing (hopefully) this weekend. I'm also mounting up a set of Toyos on the stock rims, for daily driver use and ge...

Good stuff, thanks guys. Sounds like a good group is forming out here, for sure.

I drove Mark Mervich's VD this weekend at Marina and the hook was set...I had been thinking about it for awhile, but now I NEED a CM car.

Looking for CM car

This should probably go in classifieds, but maybe not, as there's a discussion combined... I'm looking to buy a CM car, as I've sold my Shelby. In a perfect world, I'd find a Swift DB1 that was turnkey for no more than $12,000. Seeing as one just went on ebay for $10,200, that seems reasonable. Now,...

Re: Hillman IMP?

I have a Sunbeam Tiger, which is a kind of a cousin to the Imp, as both were under the Rootes Group umbrella. So, I know a little bit about the Hillman's. Back in the day, they were pretty successful in International Rally (think Monte Carlo etc) and well supported. They also had some success in Bri...

Re: Stock (ST Indexed) class - National recognition???

I'm really looking forward to seeing the level of support this proposal finds...and, I don't think it unreasonable to imagine contingency and other "National" type support. It should be enough to draw out all those who are even mildly in favor of street tires in stock and provide a meaning...

Pro Parts contact

I'm trying to get some information on a set of custom Koni DA yellows built by Pro Parts, probably around 2004 or so. They were built for either Rod McGeorge or Tim Aro and they fit the Toyota MR2 Spyder. In a perfect world, I'd like to get dyno plots and any record of revalve/rebuilds since built. ...
