Re: First Job
Worked at a bicycle shop 10-16. Was really nice when I got to high school, as it was 1/4mile down the street from school. Got to watch the place go from a high end racing shop (before that stuff was cool) to a mountain bike shop (as that stuff became cool) to the #1 tandem shop in the country (made ...

Re: Solar powered home
'Full service' installers exist and are very common, and they take care of the paperwork with the power company and government (incentives). Of course they're a little more $$ tough. There are electric codes in place for tying to the grid. I know them well because I had to write some of them for big...

My AutoX race log
I'm archiving all my old events before some of the start disappearing ('06 RallyX results are already un-retrievable). Still some to come from San Diego for '01 and '02. Thought it was kind of neat, I'd like to see some from the Lynches or the like. I was going to use it as leverage on my wife that ...

Q on 2000 season
Looking for someone with a long memory.
Did we end the 2000 season on the October buttonwillow? That's as far as results go. I though I started racing in a November, but there appears to be no '00 Nov event.

Duensing was my first thought. Maybe ask Bill Martin what his plans are (but he co-drove with his son at the SD Tour).

This is a pretty good point. My E350, fully loaded with new tires and more than adequite pressure, the bulge that appears in the rear tires still make me nervous.Eric Clements wrote:The extra rear tires make it much more stable and make a rear tire blowout a non-event.

Is the AutoX new this year? Or have I just not been paying attention.
I like the break down of scoring. I never knew the enduro was worth so much. I always thought the engineering reviews had more bias in the scoring.

Re: 2500 versus 3500 Trucks
Subjective observation I've made: 2500s ride pretty well unloaded and are bareable at high loads (although 14k is significaly more than my experiance). 3500s are rough unloaded, but handle much better at high loads (can lull you into forgetting to brake early).

RallyX cars have flipped at 15mph. You don't dig into asphault. This is one of the things that makes AutoX very safe.Kurt Rahn wrote:Supposedly (according to Formula 1 research) asphalt is a much better runoff material than grass or gravel,

Re: Cal Club Divisional in July
Hi Jay - I have the same problem - since Max is hopping into STU he bumps me to STU Ladies :) I don't think you're in the same situation as Max, he's special. He's competiting locally in SM with his STU car, but he's competiting Divisionally in STU. So when the 'Events come together' at El Toro, he...

That's a little different question that Mikes, but the L's are all taken care of in the same way as the open classes. The only exception is HIST, where we will run HIST-open, but not HIST-L since I don't see anyone running there.Nicole Nagler wrote:Dont forget PAX - L

Re: Cal Club Divisional in July
Jayson and / or Rick, Since this will be both a Divisional and count toward local points, do we have provision for people running in their proper National class, yet gaining points for the local class in which they're competing? I'd like Max to be able to run STU in the Divisional and still earn po...

Re: Cal Club Divisional in July
Why are we pulling out visitors for local points for the Divisional when we don't for a Regional? Everybody that ran in SF's Divisional earn SFR points.. To encourage the locals. I believe its appropriate for this one event. And it doesn't really matter what SFR did, but you're wrong here, they did...

Should I assume this is a 'bring your own' lunch kind of place as well? I'll probably have some extra water and sodas in my cooler left over from my last rallyx. Come by and get them Saturday.
