The used parts were in good shape and the price was fair.

Re: Perpetual Hotel for Event Thread (priceline, etc)

FYI, an updated map of the amenities available around the El Toro event site is available on the Solo2.com web site. Go to the Event Locations box on the left side, then click the text link above the El Toro site map. Several hotels close to the El Toro event site are shown on the map. La Quinta is ...

Re: May FasTrack

Craig said: This proposal is so left field to myself and my competitors, we don't understand why it is being raised? I believe what SCCA is looking for is how much resistance there is to changing the wear rating from the current 140 to 200. SCCA may be the only organization using the 140 rating. I ...

Star Specs: 200 615K: 200 RE-11: 180 Ecsta CS: 180 AD08: 180 RS-3: 140 R1R: 140 From what I recall from the old days, the treadwear rating was a test that the tire manufacturers ran on their own tires. It was not a standardized test and the test varied between manufacturers. So if the Kumho was rat...

Re: April course...kudos to Kurt!

John Fendel - Your 42' is actually 46' (four squares plus two feet). Unless I've been told incorrectly, those squares are actually 11 feet, not 10 feet. Like I said, my measurements are approximate. I have about a 3 ft stride and I paced off 14 strides between the first two cones, so that comes out...

Re: April course...kudos to Kurt!

What was the spacing on that slalom, by the way? It was tight but didn't feel as tight as when I've had to drive through a 40' (minimum legal spacing) slalom. It was probably about as short as you can get before it becomes really painful. The first pair of cones were approx 42 ft, the next were 51 ...

Re: April 15 Autocross Sunday - Registration is Now Open

I am looking for three volunteers to work Tech on Sunday. This will be your work assignment for the day. Tech is open from 7AM to Noon so if you run in the afternoon, it works best. I need the most help from 7 to 9 AM. Then someone to watch tech until noon. You can post here or PM me directly. Than...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

In the old days, there was no such thing as Saturday practice or testing/tuning. I was not aware that just running on Saturday was any kind of problem. I was also not aware that there was no instruction available on Saturday. I assumed that both days were identical formats and proceedures, with the...

Re: Post Car Classing Help Questions Here!

You could try signing up for time slips, pre-grid, gate (if you have a full SCCA membership), tech (I am still looking for one more person on Sunday), registration or one of the positions in the motor home (announcer, timing comperter operator or master radio).

Everyone tells me the same thing re finding the course; "slow down", "Walk the course" "Memorize it". It doesn't work for me and never has. At Qualcom, I couldn't see where the course went while I was walking; how much slower can you go than that? Memorizing is out of ...
