Dennis Grant's "Autocross to Win" site is also a fantastic resource, and easier to read than the Kaz Tech Tips. Here are the relevant pages: I remember Dennis.... This is a good place to learn and ask questions http://www.eng-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=800&page=1" onclick=&quo...

Re: Trying to figure out shock valving
I have no intention for using any valving numbers I come up with, suspension tuning is very much a mystery to me. This question sort of started because of a conversation I had with a shock engineer I work with. He plugged my car into Matlab and came up with some very basic numbers that didn't quite...

Re: Trying to figure out shock valving
We have two very talented suspension guys in our region, I would talk to them before you try to calculate shock valving on your own. Guy Ankeny mainly works on Penske's but can also service some Bilsteins. Bret Norgard worked for Bilstein Motorsports for years but now has his own business, you can r...

Having seen Brian's FP Miata and the attention to detail in preparation, I'm positive this is a bargain.Brian Linn wrote:

Am going to do a Compression test this weekend on mine to see where I am at. Clicked over 205K recently! A leak down test will tell you more about your engines condition than a compression test. Thanks Toby. Wasn't prepared for a leak down back when I posted. Am now. My current motor, cold leak dow...

Re: Any advise on Hankook Ventus z214?
I'm mostly concerned with road racing, since this car is being built for a specific class. I wasn't sure if the Hankooks were like the Hoosier R6 or the BFG R1S tires. I ran the C51 225/45/17 last weekend at Buttonwillow on a 2900 lb Fwd. I ran 4 races plus qualifying on a set with one previous ses...

Safety equipment appears to be legal for NASA TT, but would not pass tech for SCCA/NASA w2w.KJ Christopher wrote:Is it built for any particular class and/or sanctioning body?
However a 4 point is probably not the best idea for track use, still seems like a good deal.

Re: Road race license
The March Superschool is all you need, if you pass the Thursday thru Saturday school you can race your first race on Sunday.
If you want to get your license sooner than next March you can take the Fastlane school at Willow Springs, they are open all year.

This will sell in a couple of days on trackhq.com.
It's generally frown upon if your first post is a for sale post. You will probably be fine since you know some of the regulars like Oli T Emilio Cervantes and Vincent Wong.

Aaron can give you an exact # but I seem to recall it was around 130K, but it's a Toyota so it's the same as 35K on any other carJustin Tsang wrote:Just wondering... What's the mileage on the car?
