Thanks everyone for the recommendations, I ended up ordering a 2'x4' sheet from this site, only 18 bucks plus ~6 shipping.Nicole Nagler wrote: http://www.mcmaster.com/#5756k35/=5shq1i" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This is what I use, and I haven't lost a magnet.. yet.

Re: National SK Class?
Allowing the SK classes at the Tour and the ProSolo is a method the SCCA is using to boost local interest. Once they don't need the interest, the classes are gone from our local National events. If they're using it to build interest, and it's working, why would they stop? Is there a level at which ...

Re: 02-07-10 Event Pictures
Speaking of car numbers, any recommendations on where to get those? I wouldn't be apposed to making my own from a sheet of magnet if that's cheaper, I just don't know where to look.

Re: 02-07-10 Event Pictures
You can change the struts but not lower the spring perches with the Konis. What tire and size were you running? Those look like the 15x6 stock alloys. Were there factory optional 16x7 rims for your car? Those are 205/50R15s. I know the V6 model cougar came with 16 inch wheels stock, but I don't kno...

Re: 02-07-10 Event Pictures
It's that or you might need a tire that's shorter. I'm hesitant to do this because I've already gone down from 205/60s to 205/50s and I'd like my speedometer to still be at least kind of close to accurate. I still use this car as my daily driver as well. I guess I'll just run more pressure from now...

Re: 02-07-10 Event Pictures
There's no way that I know of that would allow me to stay in a stock class, which I really want to do. I asked on a Cougar forum and they said that I could install Koni struts and still be in stock. Would that allow me to change the camber at all? To be honest I know very little about this stuff, so...

Does that mean I need to run more pressure? I never really went lower than 37 on Saturday.

Re: February 6/7 Practice/Championship Event Weekend
I guess in my opinion there should be a class for people such as myself who have no interest in modifying their cars, but just want to show up and race in whatever they have. SK is as close as you can get to that, but even still there are a lot of expensive things that can be done to gain speed, mos...

Re: February 6/7 Practice/Championship Event Weekend
SK is attractice because even fully prepped, you can still use it as your daily driver. Oh, I don't know about that. When I had my car working on the uber revalved Bilsteins for all of two weeks last year (loooong story that I don't really need to go into here), my stock-class car was bar...

Out of curiosity, will the practice sessions be stopped tomorrow if lightning is spotted? LOL.... I don't know, but I, for one, am hoping for rain on Sunday! :) Who's with me? Mark D. Looks like you may be in luck. Yesterday there was 20% chance, now they're saying 50% chance for Sunday. 90% chance...

Re: Dell Hell
Well, he can at least eliminate hardware as the problem by running Ubuntu as I described.
Re: Dell Hell
Intel Integrated Graphics (which is what it sounds like you have) is integrated into the processor in your computer. If indeed it is the integrated graphics chip that is malfunctioning (which is what it sounds like to me) replacing the motherboard wouldn't do anything, they need to replace the proce...

Re: February 6 Practice Entry List
I'll be driving down Friday night from Santa Barbara and could go the slightly longer way and shoot by Porter Ranch. It would probably be around 7-8pm Friday night.
Edit: Probably closer to 8pm, maybe even later depending on when I leave work.

I go to MB2 Raceway in Thousand Oaks a lot, and there's also one in Sylmar.

They have kid carts that require 48" hight.

Re: Tires for SK2
The Kumho will be smaller diameter (205/60 -> 205/50), so the speedometer will show a faster speed. I believe my wheels are 6 inches wide.

Re: Tires for SK2
So, I'm leaning towards getting Kumho Ecsta XS 205/50R15s, but despite what Max said, I would like to have an accurate speedometer. How difficult is it to modify the speedo to be accurate with the new tire size, and how is it done?

Re: Tires for SK2
So lets say I was going to get RE-11s, they only option that would fit my 15" wheel is 205/50s. According to the nifty little calculator Mako linked, my speedometer would then be off by 6.5% percent. Would I just get that adjusted somehow? Looking on tire rack, there are a few options that are ...

Re: Tires for SK2
So, you're saying I don't have to get 205/60R15s for these wheels, I can get larger tires? I don't know a whole lot about this (it was only yesterday I learned what the 60 even meant) so any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Tires for SK2
I too am looking at getting new tires for my Cougar to run in SK2, and was wondering what you guys suggest I get. My current tires are 205/60R15 and after browsing tire rack it seems that the usual tires I see suggested aren't available in that size. I considered for awhile getting larger wheels, bu...

Re: The Deal with X Runs
Alrighty, I'm digging this thread up again because I have another question about X Runs. At the Dec. 13th even I was deciding when to run my X runs and mentioned that I might run them in the last run group. I was quickly told that there are no X runs in the last run group. I was wondering why that i...
