Wishing a fellow Corvette driver a speedy recovery...get well soon!

And Max, with the stock market tanking, don't knock us for having our money tied up in gold medallions!

Re: AC compressor help.. >_<

Hey Jeff,

I'm no a/c expert, but I beleieve the compressor is clutched, to reduce power consumption when the a/c is off or under full-throttle acceleration. So maybe the compressor is seized and it freewheels only when the clutch is disengaged. Could be why the original belt failed.

Just think, Max, for the price of the shocks alone on your STR car, you could own Steve's NB!

I'm tempted too. It wouldn't be the first Miata I've bought from Steve!!!

If you know your Star Wars trivia, the reference to parsecs was because the ship could take a shorter route, that was how fast it was. "Han Solo claimed that his Millennium Falcon "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs". A parsec was a unit of distance, not time. Solo was n...

Glad it worked out, Tom.

Rob Bymar's a great guy. I got the referral from my co-worker Andy Bornhop...their kids played on the same soccer team together.

Through mail order, either Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct.

Locally, I like Tucker Tire...I-5 at Crown Valley Parkway in Laguna Niguel or thereabouts.

Another great choice: Bymar Wheel & Tire, off Via Fabricante in Mission Viejo.

Talk to Rob. I just had the Vette done there, for about $79. Mention my name and he'll charge you another $20.

Two videos in one!

Roof mount was my best run, 70.655. Driver's-side mount was slower, but an interesting angle nonetheless.

[...I've always wanted a Vette (that's Corvette, not Chevette. ). The Chevy is just a better all-'rounder, and more fun to cruise around in on the weekends. Thanks for clarifying that. Cruising around on the weekends is certainly more appropriate in a Corvette: http://upload.wikimedia.org...

Re: Which Miata to get???

Mazda didn't actually drop the Miata name like they said they were going to in 2005. It's kind of odd...they did drop "Miata" for a year or two, but then they brought it back. I question Mazda's logic in dropping the Miata name, even if only briefly. There's so much brand equity and feel-...

Street touring R in my 06 s2000 Why would you move to a more expensive car in a slower class???? These days, almost without exception, STR is a quicker class than ST. And I can relate about going with a car that's a better daily driver. I had my MR2 Spyder set up pretty well, but I wanted a new cha...

Hi guys,

Is anyone planning on shooting pics....Mako, or Jeff? I'd gladly purchase a few of my Corvette (#300) if the pics come out nice.
