Re: Alignment Shops

For anyone in the south OC area, I highly recommend Bymar Wheel & Tire, in Mission Viejo on Via Fabricante. This was a year ago, so prices may have gone up, but it was only $65.

Re: Question about numbers/class designations

Nice meeting you, Jayson, and I'm really pleased with the numbers...at 10 inches tall, possibly the largest ever affixed to an autocross car. I'm sure timing and scoring will appreciate their gi-normousness.

Re: Happy 10th Birthday to me

1980 - Long Beach Memorial Stadium. In fact within two months in 1980, I participated in my first autocross, went through the Solo 1 school and drove 14 hours to a hillclimb in Eureka, CA. Do you think Craig wanted to make sure I was hooked on the sport. The Safety Steward instruction in Bob Jardin...

Re: Slo Mo Video Clips & STILLS CASOC Test & Tune Practice

Hey Mako,

I didn't run on Saturday. A close-in shot would be great. Let me know if you find anything from Sunday; if not, next time.

Hey Mako,

Get a clip of my car at the next event, and I'll PayPal you $10!! Or do you have one already? I didn't see it at the link.

Re: Thanks CASOC!!!

That course was big fun, but that first section scrambled my brain in the early going. The walom was pure genius, and was so rewarding when I (sort of) got it right. It was so tempting to go too fast through its first left-hander, and then deal with an ugly tank-slapper recovery when you pogo off th...

Re: March 27th-28th 2010 CASOC El Toro Practice/Champ

Regarding TO and X runs on the 28th--I'd like to sign up for them, and I understand they're on a first come, first serve basis. But I'm running in CST (5th run group), which registers last, at 9 a.m. Should I show up at the 7 a.m. registration for these runs, or will a portion be allotted for those ...

I'm all set with a points card and number 300. Moderators, feel free to move this to the Noob section.

Question about numbers/class designations

Is there some sort of protocol about picking a number for an event? Should it be 2-digit or 3-digit, and is there a minimum or suggested size?

Thanks!

The link on the homepage for Sunday is still listed as "Incomplete flyer." How are negotiations going to secure the lot for Saturday's practice?

Re: December 12th 2009 Practice (with photos)

Great shots, Mako! I just ordered a couple. It was nice meeting you, and seeing Steve Lepper, an old friend from years back. Had a very fun time out there at the "aqua-cross" (!!!) and I hope to do more next year. P.S. Is there any way to get the electronic images along with the prints? --...

Re: December 12th 2009 Practice (with list)

I'll be out there Saturday. I didn't sign up in advance so if there's room, I'll run. If not, I'll just hang out, watch and take pictures of my friends.

Nice! Maybe we'll bring back the contest, and you can go for a 3-peat!

I'll look for you at the event. I've got a yellow MR2 Spyder, and my friends are bringing a black 944 and possibly a red 968.

Re: Dyno Miata/SuperTrapp Test

Just thought I'd weigh in on the whole lb.-ft./ft.-lb. thing, as my former boss Mr. Dinkel was mentioned earlier. Either way, it's correct, but we tend to stick with convention and say force first, distance second. In Europe, torque is expressed as Newton-meters, and it'd sound odd to say meters-New...
