I'd pick the one that you'll be able to buy spare parts for 3 years from now... Karen Rafferty apparently took a ZR1 to a solo2: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/09/30/video-corvette-zr1-goes-autocrossing/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Results: (she ran XP - not bad for run-fl...

Re: Motorhome work day

Let me know if you need any design work once you've got it all emptied out. I think I remember how to use Autocad... They don't need no stinkin' architect..... They need a designer! :D PS. Not to imply that you stink. Hmmmm. Bathed lately? I'm pretty sure my design talents are more in line with the...

Re: what is CSM?

I'm still confused as to why CSM needs DOT-R's. If you're running A6's or V710's, run in SM, SM2, XP, DM or EM. Bob Tunnell seems to think the DOT's are faster than slicks, at least on the heavier cars... I'd bet you'd have to be well under a ton for the slicks to be the preferred option. The only t...

CSCC SOLO on TV

Just watched a short segment on the Ch 5 news featuring Toby L, Ken M, Max H and Rita W at Cal Speedway.
It aired at the end of the news at about 10:50.
This was the piece where the camera man was sitting in the back of Toby's BMW while Ken drove.

George, I may have need of some storage in the next few months.

I could bring over some pallet racks if it works out.

Re: Discussion of local classes for '09

Try this on for size: 1. CSM remains unchanged. 2. Add CST as a local class. It's CSM on street tires - 140+ treadwear rating - and gives us a catch-all class for newbies, and even carries forward the nomenclature nicely. 3. Add SST as a local class. It's open to all non-ST classed cars and operate...

I like it. ALOT. Make CST the default novice class and you've got a winner. Try this on for size: CSM remains unchanged. Add CST as a local class. Well, so much for the RV, probably... My brother-in-law, through a miracle from God, is getting married. The miracle is that the girl is Polish, so she doesn't know any better. The part that f's up my http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/curtluther/rj-1.gif on an RV is that the wedding will be ...

Re: Our 335 Coupe....

I think only one guy has really tried. Both Sam Strano and Pat Salerno think the GTO could get it done in FS. Apparently it's a good transition car, and obviously it has more than enough power with 400/400, but the lack of front tire vs. the Shelby might be it's achilles heel on a sweeper intensive ...

Re: Our 335 Coupe....

Oh, it can get 3 degrees negative up front without bending anything. And squeeze 275's up there as well... It may not do it on a national level, but locally it should be fun. At least fun enough for when the Noble can't come out to play. Or, I could buy some Dunlops and have the most powerful (and h...

Re: New local classes for '09

Yeah, that might be true, but is this novice (who doesn't know the great street tire equalizer factor) in the mini going to see it that way? When he's close to or ahead of the vette he will! ;) And how will the vette driver feel? Inadequate. But why do you think he bought the Vette in the first pla...

Re: New local classes for '09

I don't think CSM is necessarily a good novice class as the differences in car prep would be huge and very likely discouraging. What could be more discouraging than losing to that other novice in a stock Mini despite turning a faster time, simply because his HS index is softer than the EM index pla...

Re: New local classes for '09

Simplifying things is good.
We seem to make this all too complicated just because we think we can.

Make CSM a street tire class and also make it the default novice class. This makes life so much simpler.

Re: Novice class changes for 2009

Honestly, if you make CSM a street tire class, it becomes the perfect novice catch-all. What nationally competitive driver is really going to build a car to go win CSM? It's not going to happen. Sure, Tom Berry could break the Evo and bring out a supercharged Miata, or Randy could come up with stree...

Re: New local classes for '09

I understand what Jayson is saying now, and I like that a lot. If we do that, do we even need CSM? CSM is a keeper. I think we get a fair number of cars that don't really fit anywhere else. Also, regarding Jayson's proposal, the idea that someone with a nationally prepped SP, SM, P or M car would r...

Re: New local classes for '09

Making CSM a street tire class seems to accomplish almost everything you're talking about. It really doesn't need to be any more complicated than that! If you want to create a class to test out STX2 or STU2 or STR (or whatever you're going to call it) for purposes of informing a national debate, go ...
